O2 Spacer or Mil eliminator???

I am trying to find out if a set of O2 Spacers will help with my P0420 code or if I need Mil Eliminators..

I just got an 02 GT and am getting a code P0420. The previous owner made his own x pipe. The two front PreCats are still in place but he cut out the two rear main cats.

So does anyone have experience with the O2 Spacers?

The other name for these are anti-foulers. They are available from your local autoparts store.

The PCM programming is smarter in later MY cars. Did you know in late model cars (2003 or 2004+) that the PCM will command a misfire just to confirm that the misfire is seen by the O2 sensors? That's why some simple MIL's might not work on a late model car.

Check out this post for information on why removing one cat could reduce the service life of the remaining cat.

Thanks for the reply. I will eventually get a good high flow Xpipe with cats but just need to get thru emisions so I can transfer the title. They do the ODBII scan and dont sniff on newer cars so I should be good if I can get the light out.

So do you think the Anti-foulers or the MIL eliminator route would work better?
