I need to get new pistons for my 92 mustang. I have the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Fast As Cast 170cc cylinder heads http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-51400004/ advertised as 61cc. The machine shop tested them and said they are 64cc. I called Trick Flow and asked if they could be a 64cc and they said that they've never seen these heads being that far off.

I found Probe pistons that I like and are designed for the twisted wedge heads:

I want around a 9:1 compression, I have a 4.100 bore head gasket with a compressed thickness of 0.039. My block is not decked but I will assume it's around 0.010 in the hole but has a bore of 4.030 and I will be using the factory rods and have a 3 inch stroke.

I found with 61cc heads and these pistons my compression will be 9.46 : 1
With 64cc heads and these pistons my compression will be 9.12 : 1

Should I listen to Trick Flow or the machine shop on the cc of the heads??

Also, I am looking at Mahle rings. Are they any good? I was looking at these, should I grab these?

If it were me and I didn't have plans on spinning the crap out of the blower (15psi+), I'd still shoot for something in the 9.5-10.5:1 range. Especially since you're now running aluminum heads. That extra half a point to a point and a half in compression won't hurt you in most kits street level boost ranges 6-10psi or so...and you can always pull a little timing if you need to, but it could be worth as much as 10-20hp with like amounts of torque in over the stock CR.

Ford only stuck with the lower compression ratio so people could run the crappiest old regular gas and not worry about pre ignition and warranty issues. Most Mustang guys I know run premium in their tanks...so why not take advantage of it and add a little compression to the mix. :nice:

Yeah I was only planning on running 8-10 psi. So you think I'd still be all right with like 9.5:1 even with h/c/i and a supercharger? What do you think of Probe pistons and the Mahle rings? Are they both pretty good for a nice build? Thanks for your help.
