Negotiating price with Xplan?

I'm not looking to steal from anyone and I know the dealer/salesman have bills too. I've heard of people negotiating prices better than xplan, which I have and I'm wondering if there's much room for it? The current rebates (3,000 cash and 750 private) come from Ford so I know that's not hurting the dealer.

I have a print out of a car the dealer is going to 'try to get' for me from somewhere else. Must be a mystical place 'cuz I searched dealer inventories for miles and miles and miles....and couldn't find it. Vin comes up on ford search so it does exist. MSRP is 36,095 After xplan, rebates, tax, title, dealer $75 fee, tire bs, looks like 33040.82. It's a premium GT manual trans. with 19"wheels and comfort pkg.
Any suggestions?

I got my using plan and I don't see how you can negotiate a better deal. It's 1% over dealer invoice without any haggling. After my trade in, I'm paying $60 less a month on my car payment. It's like they are paying me $60 a month to take the car off their hands. At least that's how I look at it.:D

I just got my Mustang using the plan. Sticker on the car was 24595. I added a custom hood/paint for $1300, and had a $3500 trade-in, and ended up with an out the door price of $22,880. There was no negotiation.

I'm more than satisfied.

Dealers receive a set price from Ford for selling a car under Xplan. You can get a number if you are a member of the Mustang Club of America. I believe on most Mustangs it is about $1500 off. The discount varies on different Ford models. If you search the internet, you can find the code you need to access X-plan info.
Dealers may also give you less trade in on your car if you are buying on X-plan. That's one way they can increase their profits. Know what your trade in is truly worth. I have purchased many cars, not just Mustangs, on X-plan with no problem.

"Dealers may also give you less trade in on your car if you are buying on X-plan" I think this is definitely true. Unfortunately, you are technically supposed to announce that you are eligible for X-Plan right away and they have the right to adjust your trade in value or deny you the x-plan if you don't. Still though, it may be worthwhile to first shop your car around to a couple dealerships without X-Plan just to see how much your trade in is really worth. My old car got offers anywhere from $1,200 up to $1,900 depending on dealership.

I ended up buying my Mustang used and after we negotiated price ($32,000 which covered everything except for registration for a 2011 Mustang GT CS Automatic glass roof with 8K miles back in March 2011 when they had bought it for $39,000 in October 2010), the seller offered to take my car in trade for $1,250 off of the price. I probably could have gotten more selling my old car myself but this was zero hassle for me and this was worth it to save myself the time and headaches.
