Lowering springs

I need some help from you guys. I have 2" lowering springs on my Vert, and I hate the ride. I am getting older and just can't stand it. I would like to go back to stock, but I do like the looks of a slightly lowered vehicle.

Are there any springs out there that would lower it about .50 to .75" that would still have a nice ride, or am I just out of luck? I will be replacing the shocks/struts as well. Any help on this wold be appreciated. I don't like how the stock springs make it look like the front is higher than the back. Here are a few current pics.

What kind of springs do you got on it now? I've got eibach pro-kit and I love the stance and I didnt notice a difference going from stock to these. I personally would suck it up to keep the stance you got there, that is one good looking ride.

Well, I'm not sure what springs are on there. The last owner didn't know either.(only that they were 2" lowering) Maybe it just needs new shocks/struts. It has no travel at all. Seems like every bump is bottoming out. I feel like I'm in a Fast and Furious movie. Lol. It drives strait, handles quite well with no vibrations, and just maybe a very small amount of bump steer. Only barely noticeable on large bumps. It has the factory shocks/struts as well. Thank you all for the compliments too! The car is very, very clean and had been well kept, but it looks better in the pics. Lol a very nice 5 ft car.

Don't underestimate how much the struts and shocks contribute to ride quality. More than the springs do, to a point. In other words if you don't address any underlying deficiencies in the struts and shocks, changing the springs won't matter much. And it's very much a get-what-you-pay-for kind of deal. If I were you I'd look into the aforementioned B springs, but I'd only install the front ones. They're the same rate as stock 5.0 springs, just shorter. But the B rears are way too stiff, so I'd put stock rear springs back in it, and height-adjustable rear LCA's to get it so sit where you want it. Then I'd put a set of Tokico HP's on it at a minimum, or if you threw a few more bucks at it, something like Bilstein or Koni Reds would make your day.

My car road like :poo: on B springs when I bought it. I'd do quality struts like MFE mentioned first.

Personally I have MM coilovers(12"/250lb) up front, MM weight jackers(LCA) in the rear, and am installing Eibach pro-kit springs in the back soon to get the harsh B springs out of there.

Edit: I have Billstein struts and have accomplished 4 wheel adjustable ride height with this combo.

I have B Springs with Tokico Blues. The ride is good. Not too low.

Edit: The front is not too low. The back sits a little higher so the car has a rake. However I don't mind because I will eventually be taking the family on rides and such so it will lower more when there's more weight.

If you do some digging I think you'll find the Pro-Kit and the FRPP B spring sets are virtually, if not totally, identical. Meaning your Pro-kit rear springs will be no improvement over the B's you have there now.

I went with b springs in the front and sn95 6 cyl coupe springs with one coil cut off in the back. Of all of the mustangs I've had over the years, I think I am going to like this set up the best. By the way I am running kyb agx shocks and struts.

What I need to do next is install some subframe connectors. My other pony has Kenny Brown race springs with rates around 800 front and 400 rear, and the car actually rides nicely with the Tokico Illuminas set full soft. The only thing that makes sense to me about that is the frame connectors, jacking rails, strut tower brace and roll bar isolate each impact to the individual wheel and do not let the road irregularities vibrate around the car and make me uncomfortable.

Anyway, the point is that it might take more than springs to get you the ride you want...

I must agree. BEAUtiful vert! I love everything I see. I too love the cheese graters. Since everyone has given their opinions I'll confuse you more with mine.
I had FRPP B springs on my 88vert for nearly 10 yrs. They are stiff and ride rough but they do provide a great lowered stance. You will trade ride quality for looks if you go that way.
I highly recommend the Eibach Prokit or Saleen Racecraft springs.
The Saleen springs are nearly impossible to find so try the Eibach.
I recommend the KYB AGX adjustable shocks/struts. I leave them adjusted soft around town and firm them up for track days.
I have blue Tokico shocks/struts on my SSC. These are not adjustable and ride pretty firm.
(but I like them)

Good luck

Wow, thanks everyone for all the advice. I am going to get around to it very soon. I think I will try some new struts/shocks first then subframe connectors. I do really like the looks of the car after having it for a while. I have been driving it quite a bit lately, and the ride improved after I checked the tire pressure. 40 psi. I dropped it to 32 and what a difference it made. Thanks again everyone!
