thanks for the input but with all do respect i know how to drive a 5.0. i drive the car all day as hard as i can. i want it to break so i know the limits of the car. it wont break. the car would run 13s for sur but i had too much tire front and rear. sorry to be blunt but im trying to give you a better picture.

Trying to break your car doesn't make you fast... It makes you look stupid. And betting your car that you can run a faster time than someone who actually knows what they are doing makes you look like you've been watching to much Fast and the Furious.

its a saying dude. i dont get why everyone thinks i have not been to the track. i feel like im waisting my time with this. yes i want my car to break. you know exactly how much a bone stock factory t5 will take?
how about the stock axles. how about the stock fuel system? ask anyone and you will get an ignorant guess. nobody can say i did that and it works or it doesnt work.

I usually disconnect mine for track day but have never completely removed it. I have my battery in it's factory location but borrowed an ultra-light track battery the last couple of times I went. The skinnies should help. A set of 90/10 adjustables for the front would help a lot too. Anything you can do to get weight transfer will help your 60 foot times.
thanks for your help. i drive this car everywher so how do you think the 90/10s will work on the freeways? im not sure about getting control arms because i think it will make my ride rough. am i wrong? if its rough how rough? thank you.

I don't know about the 90/10s but I have upper and lower control arms and the ride is fine. They are a good upgrade for helping you to keep the tires planted off the line. That's one of the first things I would buy

Actually you got a lot of good info in here since your not giving any in return or anything about the car other then it's a gt40p combo.

There is more to racing then a fast car! Half of it is the nut behind the wheel and his ability to get it down the track in the quickest possible manner. And breaking :poo: is part of the game. If your not willing to take that chance you have the wrong hobby.

Do yourself a favor get seat time at the track.and answer the damn questions I asked and I'll tell you where to look to improve.

Btw
No on 90/10 go 70/30 it will be better on the street.
Control arms won't make it ride rough. And if your worried about a rough ride sell it and buy a caddy.
Don't go shorter on rears you have plenty of gear as it is.

I like the 90/10 adjustables. Just turn the little dial to get street manners back into it. I also liked having the ability to dial it in a bit as driving and power changes over time.

C'mon man...i'm not bashing you or anything, but over the 30 or so year life of the 5.0 Mustang, don't you think every single possible stock part has been pushed to the limits by someone? Have you ever heard someone say "don't run slicks on stock axles"? Have you ever wondered why they say that? It's not a guess...it's because someone snapped their axles and sent their car into the wall. You know why companies sell battle boxes to reinforce the torque boxes? Because people rip them off the subframe all the time. You know why companies sell aftermarket transmissions? Because T5s have been known to explode a gear on a missed shift on a stock 5.0. You're not really reinventing the wheel here dude...anything you've heard about a 5.0 breaking, you didn't hear it because some bench racer guessed about it, you heard it because someone took it to the track and broke it there.

As for the car going 14s with all the parts you have on it....like someone said, either you're inexperienced or something is wrong with the car. That's not an insult, that's the reality of the situation. That's the opinion of those of us who have been there and done it with the very same parts that you have on your car right now. What other possible reason could there be?? Do you live in a super super high altitude where the air is extremely thin? Where you racing against a 50mph head wind? Is your local 1/4 mile track built going up hill? Where you pulling a trailer? Does your car weigh 4000lbs? This isn't rocket science. Every combo you can think of for a 5.0 has been ironed out by someone, and your combo is a tried and true low 13 second combo, some have gone even faster. I know a guy right now who is running high 11s with ported GT40 production iron heads...you would not believe how simple his combo is. People call him a liar all the time. It's just a simple mix of parts that work right and a guy who drives his car with no mercy, leaves the line at 6k RPM and leaves nothing on the table. Are you driving like that?

I've broken 2 stock T5s... Street tires and a bolt-on car.

I'm not making nearly that power but I got a ton of life from my t5 at my power levels and took it out and sold it still working in favor of a tremec upgrade. Shifting proper will get the job done and not break em.....usually ;)

funny thing is it doesnt make a ton of power... its a ford racing crate motor with GT40 X heads and a E cam

+1 on 3rd gear. I've broken so many of them I've lost count.

And 85_SS left out twisting the car up so bad the door won't open or shut because of no cage. Done that, plus the stuff on his list. The fox is a great platform, but If you don't make necessary adjustments to it for making power, the list of broken stuff will get very long...

The first one I broke missing 2nd, so yea bad shifting. The second one, though, I broke by shearing the teeth off 3rd during a successful, but aggressive, shift.
same here... That's funny.. Mine went into gear for a second then went bang. I was told by a well know transmission guy in my area that 3rd gear sheared because it's the farthest gear away from the bearings. The shaft must have flexed and slipped a tooth and shaved half my teeth off.
