What tailpipes will fit, lowered plus wider tires???

SO I'm sick of the dumps on my LX, all the crap ( dirt, grass clipping, ETC) always blows up onto the rear bumper of the car from the exhuast, the stink coming it the car if you get stuck in traffic, ETC, so its time to put tail pipes on it.

I want a nice polished stainless tip where everything is visible, my concern it finding somthing that fits! it currently has Borlas on it after the H pipe then dumps right at the axle, it has never had a tailpipe on it since i put this system on 12 years ago! The challenge will be it has 245/45/17's on it and it also has Eibach pro lowering springs so its sits pretty low. it also has hotchkis lower control arms and bennett upper control arms.

Am i going have a ton of fitment issues with all these various parts?? Who makes the best looking and decent priced tailpipes that will allow me the best chance for clearance and being able to get the pipes to sit nice and level out the back?

I have Eibach Pro springs and am using a ZR 245/45/17 tire on my mustang. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder system with the 2 1/2 polished stainless tips and have no rubbing issues.

When I use my 255/50/16 drag radials I did have a problem with a slight rub on one tail pipe and I dimpled the pipe slightly and it did not rub any more.
 
If the budget allows, just buy a whole catback.
Mixing and matchig catback parts is not always that easy, nothing is guaranteed to fit and if you have to take it to an exhaust shop you run the risk of them doing a hack job or bending you over financially.

If you buy the catback, likely you can install it in your driveway, for free.
 
245's and 255's are nothing, run pretty much anything you want IMHO. Just be prepared to re-route the fuel lines where the passenger side tailpipe upright comes close to them.
 

My only issue with the pipes above is they say they need to be welded??? I'm not into letting other people work on my car and i dont have a welder... has anyone successfully used band clamps on the above pipes?

I have 255/50/16 on the rear, lowered, with 2.5" tail pipes and the only time the tires rub the pipes are when I'm doing donuts. I can live with that.

I dont do donuts so i guess thats not an issue!!!!!!:)

is it the rubber lines from the fuel pump that are the issue??? i have a aftermarket pump in there already.

I would imagine welding would be ideal, but band clamps would work just as well. Based on the pics of the pipes, there seems to be plenty of area to work with them at the connection.

i was thinking i could take my cut off wheel and run about a 1.5" long slit length wise to give the pipe an area to "close up" slightly when using a band clamp on it so it would be clamped very securely to the mating pipe?
 
Perhaps....I guess you'll have to see how close they are when bought. You can also buy stepped band clamps to miss matched pipes that will do the job.

I used these band clamps when I installed tailpipes on my LX a few months ago. I bought these tailpipes http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-tailpipes-8697-v8.html. I only have 245's on the back, but obviously didn't have any problems with clearance.

Took me one adjustment but they fit great and I don't have any leaks. I was able to piece together my whole system (h-pipe, flow tubes, mufflers, and tailpipes) and get it all installed without leaks. Based on MFE's suggestion I used some muffler/tailpipe sealant at the joints just to ensure a leakfree system. I like the fact that I can take the whole system apart without cutting it, as you would have to with a welded system. Also, since I pieced everything together, I got to choose what components I wanted since I couldn't find a catback system with everything I wanted.
