Hi, Im not most knowledgeable person on this matter, but I would like to make 800hp @ flywheel on my 05 mustang gt. Will be using car for road racing.Im looking for advice on how to make that kind of power in my mustang while staying a 4.6l and with 3v heads. I realize that ill have to have all forged internals and I am looking at mmr block or building one. I am planning on going forced induction. Also any infoation on what needs to be done as far as drive train, suspension and chassis. I currently have eibach prodamper shocks,struts, and springs. Also have adj bmr panhard bar,bmr lca and relocation bracket, bmr panhard bar brace, bmr k member connector, upr adj uca and mount, and not that it will do much bur differential polyurethane bushing. also car has 4:11 gears. I know ill need to do something with the transmissio (I was thinking tremec t56), clutch ( i was thinking spec stage 3), and i was wanting to get an aluminum drive shaft. As far as chassis I know I will need subframe connectors (looking at bmr). Any help or advise given will be greatly apreciated! Oh and please forgive any grammar or mispellings!

Is this a serious question? By road racing, do you really mean road racing, or do you mean drag racing? That kind of horsepower is not going to be usable on a road course in my opinion. 800HP - wow, your going to have to pump some serious boost into that 4.6 to get those kind of numbers. You will likely never get the car to hook-up properly on a road course with that kind of power.
 
That much power is not needed on road courses. All the weight you will be adding in blower parts and cooling parts is going to be counter productive. I should know because i've been trying to make my gt500 a road car. I've got about 770 flywheel HP, you can just buy my car for about what you are about to spend. You want light weight and really good braking and handling for better results. Road courses are mostly turns.
 
Yeah like I said im not the most knowledgeable person on this matter. Thanks to my missunderstanding on terms what i really want is something that can handle well. I havent ever been on a road course and likely never will. 800hp is clearly harder to achieve and definitley not a reasonable daily driver with my kind of finance. So im sorry for the misunderstanding and my inability to clearly describe what I want out of my car. Realisticly what I want is a car that that can handle whatever I want to on normal roads( A car that handles better than average s197 mustang gt) but still be able to beat newer vet c6 and possibly z06 and comaroe ss and posibly z06. I havent raced my car yet prolly never will but I do like to know that i can if i wanted to. So with this in mind what should I do to build the car to those expectations? Again sorry about my missleading info.
 
Don't take this the wrong way, but if you have never done any track driving, learn how to drive first. If you build an 800 hp car and then go try to learn, you will either wreck the car, or become extremely frustrated when the Miata that you blew by on the straights keeps catching you in the turns. Blowing by a car on the straight aways due to sheer horsepower is not remotely as satisfying as running down a more powerful car in the corners because you are the better driver. I am by no means a track expert, but I have done some track days at Lime Rock Park in CT in a 1980 911 SC with 200 hp. It feels plenty powerful when learning to drive on the track. If you have not done so, try to find an autocross day first, then work your way up to doing to DE track events (driver education) with an instructor if possible. Then work your way up into faster cars if that is what you decide to do. Good Luck.
 
CT is right. Throw a good suspension on there, brake upgrade, some lightweight wheels with sticky tires and then take your car to a track day where a professional driver can teach you how to drive properly. I don't mean that to suggest you cant drive, but true road race driving takes skill and practice. I guarantee if you put your money into that, you'll lap a track much faster than in your 800hp dream car. Gain confidence, and skill, and then..have fun. :nice:
