Drive Train Vibrations

hey guys, i have had a vibration in my drive train for a while and have been trying to figure out what is wrong, it the worst over 60 mph, i can start to feel it around 45-50. im going on the hot rod power tour in two weeks and would like to have it fixed for the event. i changed my drive shaft to an aluminum one tonight and that took care of alot of it but there is still some vibration. it doesnt matter if im coasting declerating or accelerating it always does it. i ahve had two sets of wheels on it with no change. the car has a tubular k on the fron and steeda lowering springs in the rear. i did notice tonight that the pinion is touching the bump stop (well the rear end housing above the pinion. ) could that cause it? any help would be great thanks!

Does your shifter shake violently as well?

Closely inspect the U joints on your drive shaft at both ends. I had this problem for the longest before I knew.

it did, but when i put my new aluminum drive shaft in it took care of that

it has a solid mount in it so it could be from that i suppose

Mine vibrates horribly in 5th gear

If your pinion angle is off it could definately cause a vibration. Your u-joints could be stressing as well. I found this thread that might help:

Figured mine out I think.. all 4 bolts holding the driveline to the rear end were finger tight... glad I found that. That would have sucked.

That only works on leaf spring cars.

Did your balancer counterweight slip?

Your trans yoke also has a weight on it.
My son's weight cracked and then fell off...

no i dont have adjustable control arms its all stock under the rear other then the steeda springs

prolly going to laugh at me but I just replaced my 20 yrs old starter yesterday. Today on the way to work I noticed less Vibration on my gear shifter ????? I know dont laugh but its running a little smoother
