I think it would look like ass unless you had some mad fabrication skills in order to get everything to line up.
I would think that finding an old Saleen ground effects kit would be a better option and look better in the end.

Personally,....coming from someone who has "mad skills" I am scratching my head here. A 79 front end?? Why?? Pretty ugly front end to go through all of the trouble to make it work in my opinion.
But now that I think of it, the only front end that could possibly be worse than that is a Cobra II front end. But,...I guess that would depend on how you see it.

How's that? The 79 Cobra front end looks pretty damn good IMHO.

Maybe with the Saleen kit it would look good. I'm not a huge fan of the 4eye body kits, but I do like that Cobra front end.

Oh please. A 79 "Cobra" front end is no different from any other 79-81 mustang. That egg crate grille shows a total lack of design skills on the part of the ford design engineers. There were no ground effects, there was no air dam, the V8 engine made 13 HP less than the turbo 4, and even that was anemic (132 for the T/C 4). AND they (ford) tried to make up for the lack of power w/ some OVERSIZED Flower Power graphics,......... as if glued on vinyl letters and graphics could make it go faster.
Nothing says "stagnant" better than a 79 COBRA front end. IMHO.
It would like like poop. There's a reason Ford never used side skirts with the pace car and '82 GT nose...it looks good enough on its own.

I think the 82 GT nose would look good with skirts. The 82 GT's always look like something is missing from the nose back.
69clark has a pace car he put cobra side skirts and rear bumper on. It looks phenomenal.

No, you could've meant 80 Cobra front end, and then you'd be talking about the same as a Pace car.
Still has that BOGUS hood graphic,...
But at least you didn't mean it's gender confused, ugly, under achieving little brother in the background.
