Started to bleed the brakes and it is dripping fluid off a bolt from behind the caliper. No fluid came through the hose when the pedal was depressed. When the valve was closed and the brake released the fluid started to drip from this spot. Its coming right out from where this bolt goes in but I have no idea why, or what I need to do to fix it.

That sucks dude. I would make sure it isn't coming from anywhere else and dripping down there. Most likely it's leaking from the banjo joint on the brake cable. I don't think that screw goes through the casing. That spring is a bitch to re compres once it's off the caliper.

I'm going to put some pipe thread tape on the bolt and if it still leaks il just going to buy a new caliper. I'm not going to screw around with rebuilding the caliper when I can just bolt a new one on. I want to drive it I'm sick of working on it.

You'd go to the dealer for a caliper. Mucho cheaper at the Autoparts store. Pretty much guaranteed they are both rebuilt by the same company in Mexico.

One of my rear calipers locked up and I replaced it with one from auto zone. I don't remember using anything from the old caliper. You still might want to leave the old one installed to minimize brake fluid loss. My cousin left his front brakes off overnight and ended up with air in the master cylinder. That's an easy fix if you have bleeders on the MC, but I don't believe these cars have them.

I just turn the cable up and zip tie it. You don't get a whole lot of brake fluid loss. If you don't have synthetic fluid in there, and it's been more than a few years, it's time to flush it all out anyway. Usually crap like that goes bad because water builds up in DOT 3 brake fluid.

came to $58 with tax and will be there when they open at 7:30. I did not have much brake fluid in the system anyway. When I took the banjo bolt out nothing else dripped out, I think it leaked out everything I dumped into it. Now just crossing my fingers that when I get it on and go to bleed the system again that the left one is not toast as well.
