i have a 1994 mustang cobra with a resent 306 engine. for some reason the car wont start at all any more. i was going down the road and it just shut down. now all it does is turn thats it. i have put in a fuel pump and fuel filter, i replaced the cap and rotor for my distributor, changed my spark plugs and wires, the ignition coil, i have fuel pressure and spark. i checked my fuses and they are all fine. can anyone tell me if i am missing something here?

Maybe the PIP sensor.....you have spark and fuel pressure.....but are the injectors pulsing (opening/closing)? You can check with a cheap-o test light or mulitmeter, take the plug off at an injector and complete the circuit with the test light...light should go on/off while cranking. The PIP sensor, in the distributor, tells the computer when to send power to the injecotr to open/close it. When this sensor goes bad, the computer doesn't know the firing order and doesn't tell the injectors what to do...these sensors go bad all the time.

You can replace the sensor for about 20 bucks...got mine from NAPA....soemtimes called a stator as well. (you'll also need a 5.5mm socket, not an everyday toolbox item) Or, replace the distirbutor, costs a few bucks more, and generally easier. Lot of opinions on replacement distributors.

Might help you out a bit...good luck!
