well i looked at my car last night when ran out to the garage and noticed my hatch is starting to rust and the paint has already started flaking off.

so whos got who's bolt on fiberglass hatch and how does it fit? were you able to keep the stock glass? and how much did it save weight wise if you know

I am interested in the same thing.
I was told some people on this site have them, and there was even write-ups on how to best fit your stock trim and glass.

The hatch is where almost all of my rust is. The rest is only small, and is in the channel around the hatch, so fiberglass is a natural.

From what I've found is the stock hatch minus glass is about 65-70 lbs...the vfn site says the bolt on hatch hits the scale at 15lbs. 360 bucks... The next thing is going to be if I want to keep glass in the back or go lexan and knock off more weight.

I've got two of them.

Check out this thread.

As far as the weight is concerned, I weighed this stuff in my project build thread. It is very picture intensive!
http://forums.corral.net/forums/body-shop/1303220-1993-lx-cobra-conversion-project.html

In summary, my stock steel hatch with nothing attached (wires, glass, etc.) was 43.4 lbs. It may have lost a lb. or two due to rust :) but probably most of them are right at 44 lbs.

The glass was 19.6 lbs.

My design concepts hatch (which has a finished underside, and is probably a little heavier than the HO Fibertrends piece on my GT) weighed in at 24.8 lbs. This was a difference of 18.6 lbs. from stock.

As far as the VFN weight number is concerned, is that bolt on or pin on? I just can't imagine it being 10 lbs. lighter than the Design concepts piece and not feel completely like a flimsy piece of paper.
