So am I nuts or what but lately I've really been thinking about getting back into a fox body. I have had four of them and grew up with them. I can't really tinker with the cobra and to throw a whipple and cams on it would cost over 8k and that's not even the trans upgrades clutch and IRS upgrades. There is just something about a h/c/I fox. I'd throw a vortech on one and hope for 450hp or so in a light package. Everyone tells me I'm crazy though and how sweet the cobra is. I just love me a clean low mile fox though maybe its because I've had one since high school until I jumped into the new edge scene. What are your guys thoughts on the subject?

The Cobra does not need cams to make big power, so the $ that would go to cams can go to the clutch, IRS ect. It would be hard to make the Fox perform like a Cobra with a Whipple/Kenne Bell on it. It can be done, but you would not have the driveability of the Cobra. I have spent over 8K on my Fox and wish it ran as hard as a modded Cobra. I do agree that there is "just something" about a Fox that is hard to deny.

Depends what you want overall. The Cobra is badass, but personally I'd rather have a weaker Fox. I don't have anything to prove to anyone as far as times or horsepower goes, and I don't run mine on the street or track. You may be different, so figure that part out and go from there. Thought not cheap (duh), you could always build a Fox to modded Cobra numbers and have both perks.

Cant really see putting a KB or a whipple on the cobra costing you 8k. More like $3500ish. Depends. I'd never sell my fox but eventually will be looking into getting something to cruise around with. Power, AC and decent handling is what I'll be looking for and thats something cobras have. Its up to you but if possible get a fox and keep the cobra.

Put it this way, if you get a fox figure $4k for a pretty decent starting point. You'll put around $5k into it to get to similar numbers as a pulley'd cobra and still need to work on the suspension and tranny to get it to kinda stay together reliably. If you sold your cobra, dont know how many miles yours has or anything but if its pretty low, 18-20k you'll get so you could really build a pretty bad ass fox.

Well for a whipple and supporting mods I would be looking at about 5k for the blower bigger injectors mass air boost a pump sct tuner a tune etc. Plus a bigger inter cooler etc. I don't know well see I love the car I just love foxes to.

^ I know I love a mean camming raw fuel shaking fox body lol. Man what a tough choice. For what I could get for the cobra I would have a mean fox. They both have pluses and minuses. I was talking to a guy at a car show tonight who sold his terminator for a 2011 gt that he loves but says its to refined and to quiet. I guess every car has pros and cons.

only 7k miles on the Cobra? Can you buy a fox and keep the Cobra? Best of 2 worlds :) You don't need 500hp to have fun in a fox... a Good 350 ish HCI with good gear out back is enough to get you in trouble :D

I would sell that grand marquis you have as a daily driver and daily drive a fox. I sold my fox for a 02 GT. Then I sold the 02GT and got my notch. I should have listened to my wife and kept the 02 GT though. Both are great cars for their own reasons. The 02 was faster and more comfortable. The notch is just a raw car and sounds awesome. The notch also looks better because..... it's a notch and I always wanted one. Now, If I could have kept my old Hatch and the 02 GT with my current notch, I would be in heaven.

I think the question is "what are you looking for". Even a really nice fox, is an OLD car. Finding a nice fox for a decent price is something you are going to be a challenge in itself.
