Ok, fixing to head off to the night shift for my last workday this weekend...but, I had to get my new shocks, struts and springs on before I left for work. I swapped out my OEM replacement Tokico's for Strange adjustables and swapped my 300lb coilover springs up front for 175lb springs. I'm trying to cut my horrible 1.996 60ft times down so I can hit 12's.

Granted it rained today and the streets are still somewhat damp, but I took it for a drive and tried to launch it a few times. I didn't feel any difference. It did not seem that the front end of the car sat up or weight transfered. I know its optimal to remove the front sway bar, which I will when it comes track time.

Am I getting ahead of my self? Are the tires spinning on damp pavement stopping the car's suspension from reacting? Is the sway bar making that much of a difference?

Rear shocks are set on 5 (50/50) and front struts are on 3 (70/30). Maybe tomorrow it will dry out and I can try it again.

Any suggestions appreciated!

What do you have for rear springs?

Currently eibach prokit. I know they are not drag springs, and eventually they will give way to coilovers, but I haven't worried about them too much because my brothernlaw runs the same springs in the rear and cuts 1.6 60fts regularly. They are rated at 200/300lbs I believe, which are close to what stock rear springs are. I know alot of guys run stock rears without problem. Do you think it could be making that much difference?

Id atleast try swapping stockers back in. What front wheels do you have? Take the sway bar out to, you wont notice much of a difference without it drivablity wise and it will deff help the car launch. Any weight reduction on the front of the car?

I have a full tubular front suspension, but iron heads, ac and powersteering. It rained again today. I'm going to pull the swaybar tonight. I'm running 94-98 pony wheels, so no big and littles here. Thanks for all the replys. Maybe when it dries out I'll give it another go.

How about what this guy said and the front bumper?

LOL. Not going to the ends of the Earth here. You guys are right, all these things will help, but this is 90% street car. I think I can live w/o the sway bar for the most part...fixin to take it off right now. Looks like it may be the weekend before we see any dry pavement around here.

Remove the sway bar already! You know it's more like a 75% street car.

Well if 93 octane wasn't so dang high!!!

I removed the sway bar and took it for another spin. Found a relatively dry piece of pavement. It seemed to do better this time around and I actually noticed the front end rising. It may be a while before I get back to the track, so we will see. I have to say, going from a handling setup to a straight line setup feels weird. The lack of a sway bar is something I will have to get use to.

You dont have to go to the end of the earth to remove the fog light bracket. Its 7 bolts and two electrical connections. 10 minute job. Just remove before the track and put back on when you get home. The bumper cover doesnt have to come off.
