Data Plate Riveting

Hi
I've did this replacement years ago. If memory serves me well, I placed the dimple rivets in the plate first. I positioned the rivets at the entrance to their respective holes and using a "blunted" driver of sufficient size, pushed them into the holes.
I think this is how I did it.

Yeah, the inside of the rivet forms a round hump. Put the plate in place, insert a rivet, and with a pin pinch or smooth-ended bolt, flatten the hump. The rivet will expand and hold the plate. Be careful, it's soft aluminum and you can easily punch right through the rivet.
