Hey guys I am new here and I am looking into buying a GT.

I think I am going to go with a 13 GT Base w/Auto. Or a 12 GT Prem w/Auto of a lot close by.

Here is a windows sticker for the one on the lot: http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=1ZVBP8CF5C5268761

I was curious to what you guys got your GT Base models at. And if the x-plan would be a good option (not really to sure how to go about just keep reading on it)

Thank you for all of your help!

If I got a base GT with the only upgrade being the Recaros, would that be a good decision?

I am wondering if they have height adjustment (I am only 5 7) and I also read that the passenger seat cannot be leaned forward for rear passengers to get in... is that true?

I'm with you. Liked the look of the 13 so I went with one even though there were 12's with the same options I wanted for cheaper. Although, if you are comparing base vs premium, the 12 might be the way to go.

Also, I'm pretty sure the factory recaro seats are fully adjustable on both sides just neither are power.

Premium has stock leather seats. Go with the premium, unless you just want something to modify, possibly race on the track. For a daily driver, I want all the creature comforts I can get.

I have never driven a stick :/... make fun I know.
And my wife hates manuals and if she ever has to drive it... yeah.

Hey There,

I have never driven a manual either... I had a buddy with a manual Toyota teach me some of the basics. You probably know someone who you could ask to help you learn. I am still nervous though. If the 13 had a pdk or dual clutch automated manual, I would have ordered that instead of a manual. I have heard that this auto is a great trans, usually quicker with a tune in the traps. This time, I wanted to enjoy more of the driver experience. My wife has never driven a manual either, and the condition on ordering a 13 is that she has to learn to drive and enjoy it as well.
Hopefully when the day comes it will have the issues worked out of the getrag. I must also say, in my case, this is not a daily driver (probably turn into it though), so I can see an auto for stop and go, rush hour traffic. Try out a manual car of your friends, see if you can get the hang of it. Ultimately this something to enjoy and have fun with, bedsides getting from A to B. If it turns out the manual is not right for me I will sell the car or trade on a 14 auto, no regrets. Have a good one, and have fun.

X-plan is a good deal - takes the stress out of negotiations - you'll pay about dealer cost. Join the Mustang Club of America for $50 and you'll be eligible for x-plan pricing.

Learn manual. It's totally worth the experience. It took me three weeks before I wasn't killing the car every time I had to shift to second, but now I never want to buy another automatic.
