Boost Questioins

Your best bet is to talk to a competent machine shop...........you need an education in engine building and your machinist is the best bet............he can do "show and tell". Sometimes that is better than anything someone on the interwebs can do.

im going to high performance class in decemeber after i get through the regular automotive part but just looking for what all you have to do to prepare a motor for boost

What type of horsepower level are you shooting for? You could do pretty much anything your wallet will allow, but your target power level will dictate how mild, or wild you need to go.

im not really sure on the wallet size right now lol im doing one of those builds where you buy one piece at a time really wanting to a 351 but ive always build race quads and bikes some im not sure how much horse power a certain amount of money will buy if you know what i mean

more or less what im asking is can you boost any motor if it has low enough compression or is there other boost parts you have to buy to make it run right such and cam and what not

The best way to think of it maybe isn't the target horsepower, but the goal of the car. Say you wanted to run 10.50 in the 1/4, with gobs of power down low, pretty much instantly off idle, with full accessories including A/C. You could toss a 351 with something like an Eagle forged rotating assembly, decent blower/turbo cam and some AFR 185 or 205cc heads, with probably a small single turbo. Or if your goal was to have decent manners off idle, but make power as the RPM increases, a centrifugal supercharger setup might be for you. You could get there several ways, so knowing your ultimate goal is important for us to give proper advice. Know what I'm sayin'?

yea i gotcha im just looking for a fun street strip car with ac and all the goodies and just want to be able to out run a stock ls1 gto 6 speed its bone stock not looking for a full blown drag car just a toy

What kinda boost can they handle stock? I'm looking at a couple motors one needs tots down anyway will prolly have some head work done and put a f-cam and intake and all that good stuff
