Boss 302 Intake?

I have a Boss intake and love it. I can't say I picked up any power in the usable power range, but it looks sick! With typical mods, the Boss intake only picks up a tenth or two and maybe 2 MPH at the track if you're lucky.

Uh, not sure who told you you don't gain much. You will definitely gain power from 5500 rpm on and more importantly, you can extend your redline out to at least 7500 rpm. You don't really lose anything in the lower revs, you just don't gain anything either. Definitely worth the $500. I love mine, the way it sounds, and once it was tuned the car drove like a completely diffrent animal. I'm very hard on my car too.

Yes your peak gains CAN be large... for 1000 RPM from 6500-7500. (stock rev limiter is 6800, but with a Boss intake, most tuners extend the redline to 7500, so you really can't compare those RPM ranges vs the stock intake, since it's incapable of reaching that RPM with the stock tune)But you are in that RPM range for a very short period of time. I'm not saying it's not a great mod, just don't expect those claims of 30-40HP throughout the entire RPM band where you would really feel it.

There are more dyno results out there. One thing you must watch out for are those comparing a STOCK car to a STOCK car with a Boss intake. You must tune the car with the Boss intake, so that "stock car with a boss intake" isn't stock... It's also been tuned, which can be worth 25-30 HP by itself.

I am not going to get it. After reading those they support even more to feel like its not a need unless on the track. I plan on supercharging in about a year anyways so that would be gone. I am sure I can put 500 elsewhere.
