Lean Code Since Installing New Throttle Body

Hey guys, I bought a BBK 62mm TB for my car a few days ago. The install went smoothly, I got the TPS voltage almost exactly where it was before, and the car ran great, for about a day. Then the CEL came on, checked the code and one was P0171 and P0430. I know about the P0430 already, I'm not running cats so I'll get that sorted out shortly. The other one I'm thinking is because the new TB is flowing more air than the PCM is used to. Is there anyway to get around this? I have a Superchips tuner, which is currently bricked at the moment, so I can't change any settings I have.

There really aren't significant power gains with switching the TB on a mildly modified engine. Most people have the same problems as you. I know it is not what you want to hear, but the easiest thing to do it just put the stock one back in.

You have a vacuum leak. It doesn't matter how much air you get through the thottle body. You could have a 200mm throttle body and it wouldn't make a difference.... UNLESS... you're getting unmetered air into the engine somehow.

Look for something obvious first. A torn vac line, disconnected line, etc. If you can't find anything then use a can of starting fluid to spray lightly around your newly installed throttle body and inlet tract. If the motors stumbles or idles up then you've found your leak. If not, spread out to other areas of the engine bay in small increments using a light spray. Eventually, you will find the culprit.

It's likely that you pinched a gasket or didn't get everything seated properly when you installed the TB. New gaskets and a removal and reinstall is my wager for fixing your problem.
