I was curious if the higher prices these cars command over a regular GT were worth it. I can't seem to find much info on what the cars came with. From what I can tell a stage 1 Roush is basically body kit, side exit exhaust, and some suspension. A stage one Saleen is a body kit, some tuning, u/d pullies, suspension. Is that about right? So are you basically paying for asthetics mostly? Just curious what u guys think. I've almost got my mind made up to get either one of these of a regular GT, I'm sure it would be cheaper to go the Regular GT route. Thanks!

If you are going to get a Saleen or Roush car make sure it is supercharged! It is only a 2v but at least it will be making some boost. They can't hang with 03-04 Cobras but Roush and Saleen are bothe very nice and unique cars.

I would agree that the base Roush and Saleen cars are pretty expensive for appearance mods only. On the other hand, they seem to hold their value so if you spend the extra money you can get most of it back when you sell the car down the road.

I would also agree that it makes more sense, IMHO, to go with a supercharged Saleen or Roush instead of the base version.

stage 2 roush includes the body kit, side exhaust, 18" wheels, lower control arms, front sway bar, springs, bilstein shocks and struts, and you have the option for other equipment as well. I miss mine from time to time, it was a fun car regardless of whether it had a blower on it or not

I'm not sure I can afford a SC Saleen or Roush. Plus I imagine a Roush or Saleen would draw attention to Police and thieves. Maybe a plain jane GT would be better. Would be cheaper anyhow.

The car will not attract police attention to the car it's the driver of the car that will. Thieves will probably shy away too because it will stick out like a sore thumb when it's reported stolen.

Special editions hold their value better and I prefer Roush.

Have you considered a Mach 1? They are great cars for the price a great value that can only increase in value if you take good care of it and keep the miles down.

Yes I have thought of the Mach 1, I like the styling of the roush better even if it's slower. The other thing is This potential car would be a daily driver. I guess the 4v kinda worries me as to expensive repairs and durability. IE the police and taxi's all use 4.6 2v so you know it is a reliable engine.

I like both "specialty" mustangs but there are more sn95 stangs that are a little special. 35th, 40th anniv, centennial, bullitt, spring edition and probably some more that have a little something else that makes them different. I prefer the saleen styling and if I had money to burn this would be my dd.

the 4v is just as reliable bud

Cool. There's a guy at work with a 2001 roush stage 2 automatic and I drove it yesterday. Now, it was hot, and I did have 2 people in car, and ac on full, but it would not even burn the tires in first gear. Did not feel very powerful. Maybe it would be different in good weather with a stick.
