So after talking with the service manager he said since I didnt buy the parts from him he couldnt warranty it. So I pulled it into the garage and jacked it up pulled the axle out and looked at the seal. Nothing looked wrong with it, no tears no defects, the seal looked perfect. the rear caliper dust sheild has a little lip at the bottom and caught some gear oil...the oil was clean, new, fresh oil - golden in color. The fluid I drained out of the pig looked like black liquid metal and was almost 2qts. I hope the muffler shop didnt squirt gear oil on it to make a quick buck but thats what it was looking like. The boss said we can fix that for $165 in labor and I should have that fixed asap. I told him the rearend was completly rebuilt 4k miles ago by Ford, he didnt say a word. The ring gear shows shiny metal the full length & width of the front and back of the teeth -I think thats a good wear pattern. I cleaned up the wheel and the areas that had gear oil and slapped in a new seal I bought from Rowe today just to be on the safe side.

hopefully that takes care of the leak. Good luck!
If those were new gears you put in, I would have put in some non synthetic fluid in it for a few thousand miles then switched over to synthetic. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Gaslight - I will next time.
No leaks yet. I am throwing a P0153 code now. Bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor slow response error. Which is the drivers side header o2.

Oh also while I was replacing the axle seal I noticed the plastic vent tube coming out of the top of the gas tank had a hole in it. It was dry and didnt smell like gas, Im guessing this is a vent tube.

You should replace that tube or fix that hole. That way your vapor recovery system is working properly. Some vehicles are sensitive to the fuel tank system not being able to hold some pressure. Not sure if Ford is like that but I can tell you Jeep is sensitive.
If it is a vent tube then there should have been some gas smell.

Got the stang up on the wheel dollies and pushed into the corner of the barn. What a pain doing that by yourself. I used the tractor and some tie down straps to move it into position. I was able to use a couple of different door openings on the barn so I could pull it from different positions.
Cleaned it before I parked it. It was filthy. Now the hood is open and one of these days I might start tearing into it.

Not giving the car to anyone. The tractor helped a lot.

Rented a small excavator the other day. Dug some trenches to run electrical and gas lines for a generator.
Then dug more trenches to put some drainage pipes for the downspouts on the gutters. Ran 90 feet of 4 inch PVC. That was fun and entertaining. Now when it rains at least the water coming off the roof won't be going into the basement or filling up the sump pump hole. It wasn't cheap to do but in the long run it will pay for its self in lower electrical costs for the sump pump and less of a mess in the basement. I have the front and rear gutters now tied together and running 50 feet from the house into a lower drainage area where the sump pump water goes.

Hey guys have not been around for awhile. Was not aware I had not even updated this. I got the car back in Aug and he had it strapped down on the dyno when I got there b/c he wanted to see what it was going to put down untuned before we set up a date to tune it, so essentially I was getting a few free dyno pulls. It put down exactly what it what it did before with the old combo, actually a few HP less. Even untuned this combo should put down north of 370-385 but it put down in the mid 33o's. He talked with his engine builder and gave him my entire engine combo, head specs, cam specs anything relating to power and he said it was a solid 450-500 HP combo at the engine. So we are at a loss for why it is not making power. Seems to keep pointing back to the cam maybe not being enough or maybe b/c it was not degreead. Also the idea of the heads not matching up with the ports on the intake came up as well as far as ideas. I brought it back here to try and get a sticker and just drive it as is but I could not get one due to some stupid suspension related crap plus it developed a bad power steering leak and at that point I was so f''ing pissed off that I parked it in the garage took the insurance off it and there it has sat since mid Aug. On top of all that I now need to get my fenders flared out b/c the rear passenger side tire rubs the fender when it hits a bump hard enough and its shaving the rubber off the sidewall of my tires. Those tires are done anyway but I either need different rims that are not as wide or get the fenders flared out. When the rear end was taken out it must have shifted just enough to that side when it was put back in to cause this issue. Needless to say I'm still disgusted with the whole situation, just yesterday I put the windows back up in it, I literally drove it home and just left it as it sat. Going to dump some stibul in it soon for the winter and pull the battery out. As far as were to go from here I'll probably take it back to Hudson in the spring and have them degree the cam and check the alignment on the ports and verify TDC. If things do not improve from there then I will go a different cam route. I had just dumped SOOOOO much money into this car this summer to make 0 progress so thats why I was so put off by this whole situation.

That can make for a depressing situation and understandable why you would park it.
I do have a tool if you want to roll the inner fender lip. Measure how much the wheels stick out on each side compared to the fender lip to find out how much you might have to shift the rear end over to one side.
Since summer time I have been trying to deal with getting my mother into an assisted living facility. I filled out a bunch of applications and toured a few places. Now we have a place and hopefully she will be in soon. I had to put her house on the market to pay for this. Today was the first open house and I have one offer so far and someone else going to take a second look tomorrow. I think there is a 3rd that might be interested when he finds out that there is already an offer. This whole process has sucked up some time and my energy. If it goes under contract then we will have to bust our butts to get all the stuff out of the house. The whole thing just sucks.

That would certainly keep you busy, hopefully you can get her house sold soon. My MM&FF subscription is good through 2014 or 2015, I did a link like that a few years ago for $10 and it was good for 5 years. I'll have to check my 5.0 one and see if I should redo that one.

Looking at upgrading the whole entertainment system now. Want to get a bigger better TV and surround sound system and make the jump to 3D and 7.1 surround sound. Should have everything in the next few weeks. Will probably get the TV down in Portsmouth at Best Buy to save on Tax's here in this tax happy state. Still save money over all even factoring in travel time with gas.

I upgraded our stereo receiver and speakers last month. The old setup was almost 15 years old and still works great. Staying with the 5.1 Our TV will do the 3D but we will eventually have to upgrade the DVD player to get the 3D. The DVD we have now isn't even HD and doesn't have HDMI connections. I do like that the new receiver has multiple HDMI connections unlike the old one with RCA jacks.
I did get another offer today and that info was relayed to the first person to make an offer. Now that first guy upped his offer. Things looking better.

hopefully it sells soon then. I'm going all out with upgrading the entertainment system. 47" 3D LED with a 7.1 3D surround sound system that comes with a 3D blu ray player. Should be a nice set up for quite a long time to come.
