Looking For Input: '13 Boss 302 Vs '13 Gt500

  • Sponsors (?)

Well, if you're (unfortunately), not taking it to the track, I'd suggest the GT500. The Boss was designed as a track master, and while it would be okay as a daily, it's more suited for performance.

The current Shelby will be a niche year model worth more because of the passing of Mr Shelby this year. This was also the last model that Mr Shelby had some input. The Boss is awesome because of 7500 rpm. This is the closest you can get to an all out racing engine off the showroom floor IMHO.

UPDATE: Deal is done. Not the one I started with, but to make an incredibly long story very short: I picked up my car yesterday. Anyone interested in shopping for a 13 Shelby, there's some significant delays and generally weird stuff going on at the plant. PM me if you want details; I'll try to pass on my learnings over the last month.
I am so freakin stoked. This is a 30 year dream come true. It was like Christmas again this morning when I walked out in the garage. :D

Obligatory photo.

Beautiful. Question for you, as I'm getting a GB GT. I notice in videos that the color gets a green tint to it depending on the sunlight angle. Is this only on video or do you notice it as you walk around it? Also, must look mean as @#$% at night.

I haven't noticed a green tint, but I haven't seen the car in sunlight either. It's been gray and rainy ever since I picked it up! My kid has a GB car as well; he's never mentioned it. Car looks way better in person than in pics. And it looks mean, period. Originally wanted a white stripe car, but now very glad I got black stripes--looks killer with the black wheels.

Bad Boss: I never got to drive a Boss, so I can't compare, but I have to tell you that this car is incredible. I now have a little over 500 miles on it. Just finished a 350 mile road trip tonight. Was supposed to fly to Fairbanks Thursday morning for meetings, then fly back Thursday night. I decided that instead of parking my car in the airport garage, then spending the day driving a Fusion, I'd drive up tonight, spend the night, drive the car tomorrow for my meetings, spend the night tomorrow night, then drive back on Friday. Man, this is the ultimate road trip car (at least for one person!), and I didn't even get to put the top down!

I am so in love with this car. Thanks all for the compliments. I really appreciate it. I'm so happy!:D It's like Christmas morning every time I walk out to the parking lot, or look out the hotel window!

GT500s are far more fun to show off and far more fun to drive as a daily-driver. You will OWN the street.

The BOSS is an insane track car. I LOVE IT--there. But driving it daily, it won't inflate your ego as much as the GT500 will. Knowing you have 600+ HP on tap and those sexy lines win me over every time I look at them both.

Ideally, I'd own both. Boss Laguna for track days, GT500 for Sunset BLVD. But hell, all I got is a '07 Pony Package for Fs-sake. ;)

My $0.02.

Wouldn't we all! Nothing wrong with your ride either. I thought real hard about buying my son's 06 V6 (NO options) from him (it was his first car, so it has some sentimental value) and modding it. Yours sounds like it probably surprises folks!
