A buddy of mine called me last night and is in need of some cash fast and wants to unload the following fast: GT 40 tubular intake, pro M mass air, throttle body & spacer, 30. Lb injectors, fuel pressure reg etc.. He's been collecting this for a year but he's selling the car parts everything, his daughter is very sick. That said my car is carbarated and I would have to convert everything over, something I've been toying with a lot. I've been looking at complete wiring harnesses on eBay and they seem reasonable, I haven't checked the local yards yet, but I have couple questions for the gurus..

How do I know I'm getting what I need and not getting ripped off, is there a check list of parts?
How complicated is this conversion? This is my first actual build, I'm very handy and willing to learn, but I don't want to be over my head?
Is there a different way of going about this meaning an after market harness I could look at?

I'm reviewing previous threads but if anyone could offer any additional advise it would be great. I really want to help him out. Thanks

Its not hard. You need an injector harness, Computer harness and 02 sensor harness. To get the right stuff depends on year of your car . Pre 89 uses a different harness body wise than 90-93 and i believe there werre changes besides air bag stuff on the later model cars but i know there are threads that cover that . Other wise its basically laying the harness in the car. Hooking the comp up and grounding it. Swapping the intake, and putting 02 sensors in and plugging it all in

Fuel pump set up. Have to have an EFI set up. In tank fuel pump with a return line.

Also to feed a set up with 30 lb injectors you'll need probably a 190 LPH fuel pump. I have 24's and needed a larger fuel pump so 30's you'll definitely need bigger than stock.

Here's a bad ass harness company that I was going to order through to convert my truck to an EFI set up. But I'm lazy and never went through with it.

Thanks for the info but i decided to stick with my set up. I've spent the last 6 months learning how to at with my carb and I don't feel like investing more money. Truth be told I'm pretty happy with the carb set up now.

hey, thanks! I was but am better now, long story! Still have the yellow and black car, popped some lifters which wiped out the cam. Mismatched lifters for solid roller springs....lol. Thrust bearing pooped the bed too so I need a crank. Made a few 10.50 passes before it took a vacation. Oh well short racing season. Sold the 88 (gotta update sig) but picked up a a sweet 07 F150 FX4 supercrew. Just haven't been on here much lately, stop in once. I see you are pushing good numbers, I had my stock block 331 / Paxton 1220SL down to 10.60 before it threw a rod through the side of the block, otherwise the stock steel held up fine.
