Modded Mustang 1/8 Mile Let Down :(

It spins like its on ice 1st and 2nd gear,i dont wanna get anything too sticky with the stock axles and rear end.Im not looking to make a drag car out of it,i just wanna put down a respectable time for what i have.
dont worry about the axles... im leaving off a 2step at 4500 with a 275/60 hoosier radial on stock ranger axles. granted i have a few extras ready for it but i havent broke one yet

The tires should make a huge improvement. My 82 went from 9.20's to mid 8s with tires. The combo of tires, converter and some practice went from 9.20's to 7.90's. Unfortunately I did the converter first and spun hopelessly for on test and tune outing.

Wow....those are some big gains!!! I hope i can improve mine as much as you did.

Thanks for the tips,Going to buy some drag radials and practice. Also plan on getting the car on a chassis dyno to get it tuned.I bought the car like this so im not sure if there is any work done to the bottom end or heads. It does sound like it has a bigger cam in it.
I dont mean to sound like a douche bag, but im going to sound like a douche bag
dont bother getting that car tuned. From what ive read its a train wreck mods wise (ive been there, done that myself so dont think im being holier than thou or anything)
there are quite a few mismatched parts on there that are only hurting you. Yes, stickier tires will help, but there are a lot of issues that need addressed long before traction. Noobz pointed most of them out so i wont rehash them, but consider getting the car lined out first, and then working on the driver mod after that. Not saying its a bad car, just saying its "misguided"

Took my modded 88 mustang to run the 1/8th and came back disappointed.Got schooled by my buddies stock ls1 trans am which sucks.

This is my mods:

88 mustang gt
302 mass air conversion
trickflow upper with spacer
bbk equal length headers
bbk 75mm throttle body
bbk cold air intake
bbk frame ties
70 mm cobra map sensor
msd coil,wires,cap&rotor
cobra computer
24# injectors
msd 6al
underdrive pullies
190 lph fuel pump
gt 40 heads
tremec 5 speed
3:73 in stock rear axle
aluminum drive shaft

I could not get out of the 9's in the 1/8 mile
2.4 short times...spinning bad 1&2nd....need drag radials
mph is only 77 mph in 1/8th running 9.3-9.6
Was hoping to run mid 8s at least.

My buddies stock 99 ls1 trans am was running 8.90's!!!!
I know tires will help but 77 mph seems slow for my mods.
dont worry once u hook it be closer

" I didn't see that" ....:nonono:

It should be on a hat that the offender has to wear....

A big red one..with scratched out stuff about Make America great again on the front.

Or conversely..

" Lock me up"

Yeah,...Every guy who revives a 5 yr old thread should have to wear a red hat with one slogan or the other written on it.
