New Project Car

I'd talk about a lower price, that seems a little high for the condition you described it in. I'm no fox expert (clearly haven't been on the scene long), but I've compared 'literally' 100s of Foxs ranging between 1 and 2 states from here and all across texas. I would pay around 900 for that give or take 50.
I'm not sure where you're buying from but if it doesn't start and has a bad interior (not that that stops you) then it sounds a bit high for the price. Haggle!

I'll never understand the concept behind which is better, either way it's fuel delivery. I like fuel injection but carbs are way too easy (I mean that in a good way) to pass over.

A carb makes it all the better, given it's obvious condition. This way I wont be plagued w/ a never ending stream of sensor based EFI issues.
EFI....turn the key....VROOM...go. For over 200,000km now. Any time of year, in any weather at any elevation. It runs the same. You've got a preference Mike, and that's cool, but you'll never convince anyone here that carbs are more trouble free than EFI. For every EFI based issue I've had, I can think of 5X that many I had on any carbed vehicle I owned. And I've owned my share of both. :D

Yeah,....I'll bet that the beat P.O.S. that this thread revolves around (the one that still has the abandoned coil bolted on the shock tower) would go vrroom if it had efi and I turned the key.

Before you decide I'm standing on a soapbox, you might wanna take a minute to get off yours to see what it is I was saying...I said I wasn't trying to start yet another carb/efi debate thread here,....I was simply stating that if the car had a carb and an HEI, I could get it running way quicker than if it was the other way around, given that it is a mess.

The only reason I tagged you was to say that there'll be no hoopty assed focus in his future,.....the carb comment was directed at the other I tagged,.......because obviously, despite the outcome of every other carb vs efi debates,... ........................... there are those that forget or deny that carburetors were, and are still on daily driven cars.

BTW,........ I appreciate it when you give me the full reminder of who it is I'm talking to as well,...

Thank you Brian, Stangnet Staff.

Someones got his balls in a bunch this morning? What's the matter...were you up late tuning your carb? Or perhaps writing this speech?

And you're the one endlessly whining about EFI issues, and claiming carb superiority, not me. I merely addressed your claim. If you don't want it brought up, quit pissing and moaning about it. And most certainly don't tag me in you post if your not interested in a response. I mean...you're so worked up about this, you posted it twice.

Oh....and my name and title are part of my sig smart ass. Just like everyone here is reminded that your a prick everytime you make a post. Though it seems most don't even to read your sig to realize that.

Lighten up. Go chase some teenagers off your lawn or something.

So,...because I clarified something for you, and pointed out my statement as not being about how superior carbs were in general, and narrowed it to the specific car I was talking about, I'm still whining about E.F.I.?
Guess that you didn't go back and reread that then?

It got posted twice because I got a "Server is too busy" when I tried posting it the first time.

You got tagged because of the only comment you offered up in the thread ......the one about him being 19 and needing a winged focus w/ a fart pipe,...so whether or not you chose to respond would've/should've been about that, but somehow you decided to pick up the torch for the other two.

You wanna stop my whining about about efi issues? than filter out the "who's got a carb and why" thread that shows up every other month. Given that there are still a few of us pro carb "efi whiners" left here to even offer up a rebuttal to the divinty that is EFI,...seems incumbent on me to pitch in.

I'll leave the prick sig there for now,....The fact that I'm a prick is certainly gotta be the reason I'd take on a less than cordial debate w/ you.

Lighten up? I never considered it anything more than a debate.
** Get off my lawn You damn kids!!!

Idk man i'd probably pass. Sounds like that car has been wrung out hard. I'd sooner look for a clean 4 banger and do a V8 conversion myself. Then you know that even if it was beat on, the 4 banger couldn't have done much damage.

Yeah,...I'm almost there(99%) in agreement w/ you. Truth be told,...he needs the benefit of reliability and the margin of safety that only a newer car can provide. I was just entertaining the thought that a car that can be bought for cash, that won't require full coverage insurance, (liability instead) that could be made "somewhat" dependable could be done for alot less, and would be waay more easier on the limited finances that comes w/ being 19.
He had a 4 banger car that was slotted for either the turbo4 that I still have or a v8 upgrade,...but he drove it into a brick mailbox before any of that could happen.
Time is short,..he has a limited knowledge base w/ regard to working on a car,..and I'm not gonna be there to help him out.

How is your son doing Mike? Is he still away at whatever military training he went off to?
He's doing great nick, thanks for asking. It's down go the final last month of tech school, and he will go to his first duty station at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana.

I guess the brick mailbox won that battle?

Brick mailbox......1
