while digging through my motor pile ,i came across two 351 cleveland intakes.they appear to be some type of spread bore.i know they were both 4 bolt main blocks .the D2 intake came from a Mach 1 ,the D3 intake came from a merc. the third one is a typical 4 v from a 70 Mach 1 for comparison. both the D2 and the D3 intakes were from Q code cars .any one have info on the two
spread bores? i know the Q is cobra jet, but i have never owned one with intakes like these two.
i found these at a local pick a part.
the other thing a have never seen is this pair of valve covers. they were on the motor out of the mustang. they usual have a foil label that reads 351 .these say cobra and a coiled snake. both motors were duel point dist. and had large hamonic ballancers.
the motor from the montego mx had tin painted valve covers. both had open chamber 4v heads. the mustang was a ram air car.
I believe the 70-71 429CJ was the only Ford offering equipped with a quadrajet. The manifolds pictured are for the autolite/motorcraft spreadbore pattern which is different from the quadrajet.
