I'm looking at buying a used s trim for my 347. The guy who currently owns it says he has everything for it except FMU. He says it came off of an engine that had blown up. What should I look out for before possibly buying it? The blown engine wouldn't have any effect on the blower right? Thanks

It shouldn't have any effect, unless the cause of the engine failure was the blower coming apart. Check for a free turning shaft with no free play. The impeller shouldn't appear to have any nicks in it, and should not come into contact with the housing at all. I wouldn't worry if it has any stripped mounting holes, since it's easy to over torque the bolts in the aluminum housing. It's also easy to install a helicoil in a stripped hole. Good luck!

Depending on how catastrophic the failure, or slow occurring, it could have a major impact. Unless its a v7 it shares oil with the engine and could have had metal fragments run through it.
