Engine Light Flashing Question

This does not happen all the time, nor does it occur frequently. When it does happen, I can't help but wonder if there is actually something wrong. Sometimes, under hard acceleration, the egnine light will start flashing. I let up on the throttle and a few seconds later, the flashing engine light goes away. There are no odd sounds or anything else associated with this event. It just seems to randomly occur. If anyone else has or had this issue, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, there is something possibly wrong. If you don't have anything that may void your warranty, make an appt. with the dealer and let them find out why it's happening. Could be as simple as a software update..

The one and only thing that will make the check engine lamp flash is a bad engine missfire. All other emissions or electronic engine control faults will cause the light to come on and glow constantly. A miss that's less severe won't even make the check engine lamp flash. Are you certain it's the check engine lamp?

Thank you guys! I actually just read in the manual that flashing indicates a misfire. The car is stock, so no problems with warranty. I will take it in tomorrow. Hopefully it's nothing big.

Finally got my car back after a week! It took so long because they also had to replace my drivers side seat cover as the leather was starting to tear. They found the #2 coil & spark plug to be at fault. Both were replaced and I'm happy to report that the car feels great again.
