Broke
Well Ive had her for 11 years, and done a whopping 60k miles. I have only driven her 5k in the last 2 or 3 years. What do you think for maintenance? What will be worn out due to age despite the fact it hasnt seen much mileage?
can skip everything trans related because I'm about to swap the whole drive train. I have AC Deleted too. Battery is new.

Oil
Clean the K&N
Fuel filter
Accessory belt? (its still the original one)
Coolant sys flush? (need to check when last done)
Plugs? (I was thinking leave em because they havent blown out)

Thoughts?

Ford recommends @ 60k:
Ford said:
-Inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums, brake lines and hoses, and parking brake system
-Inspect cooling system and hoses
-Inspect and lubricate all non-sealed steering linkage, ball joints, suspension joints, half and drive-shafts and u-joints
-Inspect complete exhaust system and heat shields
-Replace engine air filter
-Replace fuel filter

About the coolant flush, Ford recommends that that should be done at 45/75/105/and 135k miles

I'm in the same boat with a 1999 GT with only 74,000. I only put about 1000 miles a year now. I have flushed the coolant about 3+ years/5000 miles or so ago. Still change the oil about once a year or so, just for :poo:z and giggles. The rear diff has never been opened and the plugs/etc. are stock. The only thing I probably need to do is clean and recharge the K&N. The car runs great otherwise.

Thank guys. I did the diff fluid 30k ago when I switched to 4.10s. I checked my records and realized that I had done the fuel filter 3k miles ago too. So I only ended up doing the following:

Cleaned the K&N.
Had the stealership do the oil change and lube everything under the car for $14 (brought my own oil). You cant beat that.
Replaced the old rusty lug nuts with nice new chrome ones
Replaced the corral and pony in the front grill - the chrome was starting to look spotty
Cleaned the whole car inside and out (I could tell I must have clayed it prior to garaging it - paint felt v smooth)
Leather conditioner on the seats
Bit of seafoam
Ordered some tint for the red rear bumper quarter markers from AM.

She drives great! Now I just have to finally get this drive train swap done...

For K&N, you buy the recharger kit. You spray the cleaner on. Wait. Rinse off with water from inside outward. Let it dry and spray on fresh red oil. Use the aerosol oil spray.... its SO MUCH easier to get a nice thin uniform oiling than it was with the oil bottles that poured out a line of oil. Easy. Recharger kit will last ages too.

You need to put more miles on that car. My gt has 207k miles and I don't plan to stop driving it anytime soon. I figure sometime around 300k to 320k, I will think about replacing it. Otherwise, I will just keep maintaining. She still looks nice, has cold ac, and runs strong as ever.

Thanks!

This is an older thread revived by the K&N question. I posted the maintenance I did up by the pics.

Oh... and I was wrong. I've only done 50,000 miles! I bought her new and Im going to keep her forever!:SN:
