Who's Got Classic Insurance?

I need to look into this. My only problem is that i buy everything for my car with cash and usually used, so i don't have any receipts to prove what i have into it so i don't know how i can go about getting agreed value for what it's really worth. Right now i just have basic liability through my insurance company and if it gets wrecked, i'm screwed.

I just read far enough to see you got your insurance, so this post is really surplus...

I insure through USAA, and they sub-contract older cars out to another specialty classic insurer, I am not sure who.
However, I didn't care for the restrictions, and some people may not even be able to meet the restrictions.

Things like the car never being left alone unless it is secured inside a locked garage, or strict mileage and usage limits.
However, most states "classic" or "antique" tags have similar restrictions... Most states, especially the ones with great perks and money savings on registering the car, limit use to really ambiguous situations like "special occasions", "parades", and ect, while specifically banning driving to "work", "bad weather", or "daily".

Just a heads up to keep an eye on the restrictions.
If you break the insurance restrictions, you can be denied a claim, or if you break the state restrictions, it can be used to increase the revenue of the local law enforcement, especially if they WANT a reason to bother you.

I have american collectors on my 93

37k agreed valve
just about $550 a year
To get to that agreed value, I assume they wanted to see a nice stack of receipts?

I have had American collectors for 5 years. If your vehicle is under $20k they don't require receipts. I have the "unlimited use" policy with is capped at 7k miles a year. I pay $342 for $12k in coverage. The only caveat is the "unlimited use" policy has a $1000 deductible.

With "Unlimited use" you can drive it to work, the beach, and the grocery store "occasionally". American collectors said "occasionally" was I could take the car to work a couple times a week.

I had my SSC insured with Hagerty for 3-4 years. It kept going up every year at renewal time. It finally reached the $500 mark so I shopped around.
Now I'm with Heacock. Its right at $374 yr right now. It went up $50 from last year as it was $324 when I signed up with them two yrs ago.
I've never had a claim with either company so I can't vouch for their service.

I have Grundy. They would up the value effectivly making the premium a little more until I finally said enough, the cars are over insured. It is set up now that the value will not increase unless I call them and tell them to up the value.

Hagerty's website quoted me 458 on the Saleen, added my tools to the quote (2500 insured amount) and that brought it up to just over 500.
Who ever I go with im going to ask about insuring the tools too, 50 bucks a year is cheep to replace tools in the event that a tornado drops a tree on the garage, not that id know anything about that...
