I just traded my nos kit for a complete Paxton Sn2000 kit with oil cooler and blow off valve. The blower itself needs to be rebuilt. I took it apart and found the main shaft to have a scare indention where the bearings ride on. the ball bearings seem ok with no signs of scares or scrapes. the copper holder seems ok aswell with just signs of ware on the upright legs where the bearings are separated by but nothing where they sit on. (I will try to upload some pics but my iphones camera decided to fail) Before I took it apart I could not spin the blower with the pulley on by hand at all. I took a rag and wrapped the pulley then got some huge channel locks then I could turn the impeller by the pulley but it was very tight then I could feel the bearing falling into the shafts indention on every bearing ball when it when by. I gonna need help in trying to find out if I need a complete rebuilt which I found online for $450 or just replace the shaft at $180. Im gonna try to repair the shaft at my job by tiging the spot then grinding and polishing to see if it could be done. (whats the worst that could happen, I have to by a new shaft? kinda have that in mind already)...I did notice there where 4 shims seperating the impeller but messing with it, I kinda turned them a bit and got them cuaght between the 2 pins that secure the shft to the impeller and put 2 indentions on them. Took them out then flatten them back againsed a flat iron bench and a hammer. seems ok but just in the back of my mind....Any help would be greatly appreciated. keep in mind I am on a very tight budget, Thanks...
