I have been building models for years. I was excited to see that Revell Models is going to release a model of a '92 5.0 Mustang LX coupe 2 n'1 kit in Feb '13. I know I will build at least 2 of them, a stocker and of course a modified one.

Would this model kit excite any other FOX lover here besides me?

I dont post much, rather lurk for info... but this got me excited since foxbody models have been discontinued for a while.
I'll be ordering mine from my lhs soon enough. First model I ever completed was an 86 mustang gt. Been bitten ever since. thanks for sharing.

How long do these things take? Always had model sets as a kid but never opened them. Would love a 72 impala custom coupe ( which is impossible to find ) or my 88 vert.

depends on how detailed you get with the painting of parts etc. my first one when I was 10 years old or so, took me 2 hrs... that gt sure looked a mess, but i did it. These days.. they take a few days after painting parts n assembly. go dig into em. That cobra model kit i saw go on ebay for about $55 a few months back when i was looking.

Funny enough I would do a '72 Impala model too if one were available, that was the second car I ever owned. My first was was a '65 Falcon 2 door hardtop. Model kit completion depends on your skill level or how much time you want to spend to build them right. There is an '89 GT vert' model available. you can build this one as a stocker or as the "lowrider" (yuck!) version they show on the box.

Ill buy two. One to build and one to never open.

Ill park that one next to my Teal GMP 1993 cobra and my AutoART Azure Blue Mach 1. (Two sought after die casts)

I have an '87-'93 GT Conertible one I got as a teenager. Wished I'd done a better job of putting it together. Always planned on re-doing it later on, but never got around to it.

I did a beautiful A/C Cobra that I really took my time on years ago.

Problem is...the glue gets hard and brittle over time and just lets go. Most of my models are now in pieces from moving over the years. Some of them fell apart as I was putting them into box's. :(

Was given a model of my 08 Bullitt after I got it. Took me six months and $50 worth of glue and paint to finish it!

Built hundreds of these as a kid, but kinda short of fine motor skills and patience now.

Yep I'm definitely looking forward to this kit to come out. No more crappy resin transkit to make an aeronose notch. I do have a really sweet 79-82 notchback transkit that looks awesome and I can't wait to put it together. Also if they are re-releasing the 1993 Cobra - they better get it right this time. The kit has a lot of issues. Incorrect body shape around the side skirts, incorrect intake manifold, etc. I'll have to see it in person before I buy another 93 Cobra kit. Speaking of GMP and 93 Cobras. I think I have the right to complain if the kit isn't right. I developed the newer tooling aeronose fox body Mustangs for GMP. I worked there for 6 years and to get to do the fox body Mustangs in that kind of detail was a dream. The Cobra R is amazingly detailed. Shame Revell didn't do a 2-in-1 1993 Cobra kit with the option to make a 93 Cobra R! Even though I thinned out my fox body collection, I think I still have around 35+ fox Mustang GMP diecasts.
Hopefully though, this notchback will be a nice kit!

I havent build a model for years and i actually had 13 ribbons from the last two i built. Also won a first place plaque from the Seattle roadster show in the box stock senior class with my 97 Saleen speedster. So yes i will deffinitly be at the hobby shop l;ooking for these kits. Thanks for the heads up.

I agree with the body moldings of the '93 Cobra kit, the rear skirt on the model resembles a GT more than a Cobra. The intake kinda resembles a Cobra I think. As far as the GMP diecasts. I have the '87 LX one. Dont remember the name exactly of the particular die cast, but it is the one that is blue with yellow on front that goes into flames. Saleen rear spoiler and Weld wheels and drag slicks. It's one of my favorite die casts. Just wish GMP offered more of them.

believe those are the street burners from GMP...

and GMP wint under. just saw a 93 cobra R on ebay yesterday but didnt like the 300 bucks he wanted for it
