Hi everyone, ill be finishing up my fox project this tax season and am debating on what to buy. I have gt40 heads, 9psi vortech kit and pretty much every other bolt on that you could buy. Still have the stock valve springs with 56k ish miles on them and the stock head gasket. What is the best rockers, valve springs and head gasket I could buy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if your gonna do HG's might as well ditch the gt 40 while there and go TF or afr
With that supercharger he will be making enough power and still be safe with the gt40 heads.. You put a better flowing head on there you will make more power but you will be creeping closer to the limits of the block..I would think you can make at least 375hp with the gt40 heads.. Prob more..

Why turn a $60 job into a $1600 one just because the heads will be off?
that how all my jobs on my car start

anyway

valve springs id go with the alex parts kit they are low priced kit and work well...
head gaskets id go with the ROL gaskets if you can find them. id run them over the fel pros due to a 1 piece fire ring
rockers id go with the new ford racing kit. they are a bolt down mount like whats stock on the GT40's and they have an adjuster in the back to take up slack in the push rod to allow you to adjust the lash on the valve with out shims

Whys the sky blue? I cant justify pulling heads to do gaskets unless there actually bad and later on when it comes to i want to make more power you were already there all that time and labor you wasted may justify the money to have the heads to make way more power later.

If I run 9psi won't I destroy the stock head gaskets. I want 400 rwhp so I'm gonna run my gt 40s. I'd rather not toss another 1500 into it if I don't have to. The reason I'm gonna run a different set of valve springs is because the stock set won't be able to keep up. I'm gonna need a set with more seat pressure.

I doubt 9 psi will destroy them , friend of mine is running a little over 10 on an other wise stock block minus his gt40 intake and it going 12.90 and driving it home

1.) Whys the sky blue?
2.) I cant justify pulling heads to do gaskets unless there actually bad
3.) and later on when it comes to i want to make more power you were already there all that time and labor you wasted may justify the money to have the heads to make way more power later.

1.) From light being refracted as it passes through the atmosphere.
2.) That's the point I've been trying to make.
3.) Like I said, turning a $60 afternoon job into a $1600 week+ job. If the rest of the combo is matched to GT40s, then better heads will be held back by the rest. It's seldom a case of just swapping heads. Intake, TB, MAF, injectors.. easily another $1000 on top and now the engine block is a serious liability.

Nick, do you have the blower installed already? How about the GT40 heads? The heads don't have to come off for changing valve springs if they're already installed. Do they have pedestal or stud rockers? The best valve springs are going to be the ones matched to your cam profile, which we also know nothing about.

It would be helpful if you put at least a basic rundown of your car/combo in a forum signature. That way we don't have to interrogate you just to answer a question and you don't have to explain it every time.

I like what you did there in the quote lol .

And I have to agree with your statement and that you and I are on the same
page as far as it being a waste . I rest my case
