Iam swapping a 8" for a 9" tracloc 28 spline small bearing. 5speed manual. Question is there a short companion flange and a long flange. This would be to compensate for the gap left by the swap. I e-mailed Summit and did not get a satisfactory reply.

The original equipment u-joint size was either 1310 or 1330 series. The 1310 series is commonly known as the "small" u-joint and the 1330 series is known as the "large" u-joint. Both of these can be found on the Ford 9 inch rears.
The original equipment hardware used to hold the u-joint into the pinion yoke was comprised of two 5/16 inch u-bolts.

The one on the right (4") is what you would use with the stock 8" drive shaft. If you have a choice, then you might want the 1310 U joint version to match your 1310 8" driveshaft. If not, there is also a combo joint that is readily available that has both 1310 and 1330.

Besure to get the U bolts that are recommended for use with the yoke.
