5.0 Ho Intake Plate... Paint?

  • Sponsors (?)

Years ago I painted a plenum cover in the reverse of original. It got tossed in a box in the garage until last week when I got an Explorer intake without one.

Thanks. It was a bit tedious cutting out the mask for the Ford logo, but not too bad with a sharp X-Acto. I'm thinking about adding a red accent to the point in 5.0. It has more shelf wear than the photo suggests, so I need to redo it anyway. I want to use a silver-gray on the recessions (instead of cast aluminum silver like now) that matches the upper intake, but haven't found any high-temp paint like that yet.

Hey guys,
I've been messing around trying to design a custom instake plate for my 91 Vert.
I've been designing some motorcycle accessories for a guy and he said he would make it for me.
I measured the plate and created a 3D model of the design. Attached is a 3D rendering of my idea.
Just looking for some feedback/design ideas. I did some searching and there doesn't appear to be anyone that offers
custom intake plates. Could be a niche market.

Thanks

I think it looks good, but the question is, how much would you be selling it for? I can honestly say I probably wouldn't buy one that is all paint/sticker. If you were to do the raised/lowered lettering It may be worth it.

Not sure what I'm going to try and sell them for yet. I need to work out a fabrication cost with my machinist.
Oh hell no, I would attempt to sell some sticker, painted on POS. The rendering was just a straight on view so it is a little decieving.
Here is a rendering at a slight angle so you can see everything will be milled into .250 thk aluminum plate. Then I plan to paint and polish.
