Modless and happy?

Hi Guys,

I guess I should preface this by saying I am pretty blessed with lots of toys that I have worked hard to buy or build over the years. I say this because I know that many of you have just the one car or maybe two, so modding your cars brings them to a level to suit your individual tastes.
Now that said - i bought my 2013 Mustang because it had the features that I wanted (I share with my wife, or I would have preferred the stick transmission).
In thinking about making this car more individualized to my tastes - I have to say that I think Ford did this one right with maybe only one exception (below)..
I am MODLESS and other than just feeling a bit odd that I am modless, I am happy!

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I like the exhaust note - it is perfect and sounds a bit exotic in my opinion.
I won't be tracking the car as I have others to do that with.
Wheels and tires are just fine and I really liked them from the start.

Only one mod and maybe that is because I am not doing something right - when I out the shifter in Sport-mode and manually shift the car with the up/down buttons on the shifter, the car still only changes gears when it's ready to rather than when I command it to. In other words, there is a considerable delay in it's reactions to my shift command. Probably something that a tuner may resolve. It's not a big deal to me but it's all I could think of..

Nothing wrong with an un-modded car. It's a personal preference thing. Mine is basically stock except for GT500 mufflers. I wouldn't mind having a little extra kick from a few mods, but personally, I'd rather have the piece of mind that my warranty is maintained, and that I can get all it has out of it as is without having to worry about anything. Besides, it's not like it doesn't have a lot to offer in stock form.

Nice car. Is that a block heater by the front plate?

Depending on how many miles are on the car, the shifting may improve once the car is broken in some more.

Thanks..
Yes, it has a factory block heater and they evidently thought it was a good idea to have it hanging out in front of the grill.. I will be moving it to behind the grill as I don't intend on using it..

The car has less than 200 miles on it and I just put it away for the winter.. I'll give it a couple thousand miles to see how it performs then..

I wonder how it would look with Eleanor lights like I had on my '05??

Even though I loved my car stock, wheels and all, I just cant leave anything alone. Every time I do something with it, I think "this will be just enough to put it where I want it." A few weeks later, I am at it again. I have done a few minor power mods, but most of what I do is small cosmetic touches, as I too feel that Ford did a great job with the car from the factory.

I'm very much NOT happy with the skinny, 235-series a/s tires that came on mine... I have Blizzak snow tires to put in these rims if needed, and next year I'll be getting 18x10" rims with real, performance tires! I'm also very happy with the tune I got for it, mostly for the improved response with the auto. trans. I'll probably do adjustable shocks in the future, but that's about it on the "mod list." Well, I also added an aeroforce gauge, too... ;)

Can't help you any with the auto-shifting concern. They are awesome cars straight off the lot. I like you am blessed with lots of toys, but have never been able to resist the mod bug. I simply try to keep it controlled to well planned mods...

I was gonna keep my car bone-stock...but then I got bored and started buying stuff. I think it's all about knowing how much you want to do and knowing when to call it quits. I will be done with my SS after a 3 inch catback and maybe, MAYBE, an intake manifold upgrade. At that point I'm just gonna enjoy the car for a year and then throw some boost at it.

I'm not much help as I had wheels/tires/springs/exhaust done on my car while it still had paper plates. I do like my grill a lot though:
