Was looking to buy a new shifter for my fox, but not sure which one to get. Was leaning towards the Hurst billet plus, as I am familiar with this brand and I already have a Hurst handle and dress up kit installed. Ive also heard good things about Steeda Tri-Ax and Pro 5.0 shifters. Any advice?

I've had a steeda tri-ax in my 89 for years, and have always been happy with it. I bought an MGW for my Cobra because of the adjustability of the handle, which brought the shifter back towards me. Both are high quality pieces.

Don't forget to check the Vendor's Forum for discounts on good shifters. I've owned two of the three shifters you listed above and they worked pretty well.

On my t5 im running a short throw off ebay it comes with 2 different sets of springs light and heavy also adjustable stops ive been running it for 2 years and love it. Havent used any other brands so i can't comment on them but I think i paid like $35 for it and no problems yet. I was hell for missing 3rd so i put the heavy springs in and all you have to do is push forward and you can't miss.

If you don't want to miss third, get a T handle, I bought a hurst t handle from the local parts store, and I have never missed third gear, all you do is up and over with the palm of your hand (that is if you have the t handle angled the correct way).

On the other hand, I have missed 4th two times, LOL. (No it didn't go into second)

Bought a shorty style billet from American Muscle on sale for like 130$ with ball 2 years ago. I think the brand name was Stack. Has adj stops etc. only missed 3rd gear once all year and I think that was the trans fault (ground hard)
