whats a good K Member?

im only looking for a K Member i looked on their site they want $1,000 thats not cheap in my books, im a junkyard/swap meet guy i dont like paying the new price unless i have to.
If that is the case, why do you want a K-member?
Just curious. If you need one for specific type of racing or whatever, cool... but if you just want one to have one, you should know that not only are they expensive, but also require some expensive non-stock style parts to use (like coil overs), and in the end they are not as strong as the stock K-member. They are for loosing weight in race cars, not durability in street cars.

I am a cheapskate too, and about the JBAs:
They are no better than other shorties, and you can even get new ones for less that that price.
I got my equal length Macs at a swap meet for 40 bux.
If the JBAs are ceramic coated or polished stainless steel, and the coating is not damaged, AND that is what I want for my car, I might pay 100 bux. For me though, price means more than fancy looks, so I got $40 Macs and painted them.

IMO, you do NOT want to go cheap on a K member or any suspension piece. Also, a cheap K member is not designed for a DD. You say it is for a show car but want to put a junkyard K member in it? Keep the stock one in until you can afford a MM or Team Z unit.

i can afford it i just dont wanna dish out $350 when i now theres deals out there i just didnt know what the good brands were.
$350, lol.
By the time you get a good k member and supporting parts on the car it's going to be way past $350.

The good brands- Maximum motorsports and Griggs.

You get what you pay for in the suspension department.
I've had my share of crappy and mediocre parts, but never again will i.

I know some offer spring perches, good luck getting the car to sit at the right height with them. So i consider coil overs a must and from what i've seen from some of the cheaper coil over setups is the springs wore down the sleeves, so...

A k member is a chain reaction modification, by the time you are done i can't see it being cheap with quality parts, new or used.
And you can bet if you buy a cheap one, your headaches will be even worse.

^ This. It sounds like you aren't going to want to invest the necessary amount of coin to do the front end correctly like 2000xp8 mentioned. Just make the one you have now pretty.

Don't forget to get the car re-alinged after removing and re-installing the k-member.
