Exhaust confusion!

I am looking into redoing my whole exhaust and just about everywhere I look, there are different options for headers on the V6 stangs. '99-'00 differ from header options for '01-'04. I have a 2000 and want to keep my EGR and thus buy headers with EGR but the only options for headers are of that for '01-'04 and I am just wondering why they wouldn't work for my '00 model. Bolting the two up should be the same right? Why is it that I can't find header options for '99-'00 V6 stangs WITH EGR?

Because nobody likes EGR.

I don't know, most times when you want an upgrade your exhaust I'd say go for what you really want, and if that is an upgrade than you might as well just go for the EGR delete. If not, just go with stock headers, they're not horrible and are (or so I've been told) the same as buying shorty headers elsewhere.

Thanks. That's what I was leaning towards anyway. I'll probably end up using the stock exhaust manifolds and then upgrade to high flow cats and dual exhaust. But will my computer throw a code without EGR?

Why delete the EGR? It doesn't cost any HP and actually improves fuel economy at part throttle cruise.

Yes, i understand most aftermarket headers don't have the provision, so that would prevent me from purchasing them.

However, the factory headers are decent for most bolt ons. If you were going with a supercharged 4.2L, then i'd suggest headers, but for basic bolt ons and exhaust, save your $$$

Delete the EGR for something like longtubes and such, if he's going to stick with stock headers (as I mentioned in my first post) than he can keep the EGR. But the other headers he's found don't have EGR ports and such, I didn't mean delete the EGR for no reason, that would waste money haha, I wasn't too clear on that I suppose.
