Engine harmonica noise from engine

Hi all,

I used to have an 03 GT and used to post here...I sold it back in 05 but recently bought it back and had been driving it once or twice a week to school...but had about a 4 week period where it did not get driven...just every time I went outside with the intention of taking it the weather was crap so I just took my other car. So then I go to get in it and the battery is dead. Sigh. I go to remove the battery and the negative terminal was all screwed up from corrosion. I cleaned it up but the thing is just nasty. I had to go away for Christmas and finally today I decided to fix the thing. I put a new post terminal on the negative side, put the battery in and it started up.

Now I am hearing what I first thought was a siren nearby then realized it was coming from the engine...it really sounds a lot like a harmonica. I am guessing it could be the belts just from sitting so long without turning? Is this something which will go away from just driving it a bit? It gets pretty damn loud at times.

Also...when trying to unscrew the battery from the piece that holds it in place, the bolt broke right in half! So now the bottom part is stuck in there and I am not sure how to get it out of there without stripping the hole. CARS!!!!

Just remove the whole battery tray and pitch it they are only $20 at the ford parts counter. The noise sounds like an air leak on the intake tube. Check the band strap that holds the intake tube to the throttle body or leaks in other places on the intake tube.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about just getting a new battery tray..thanks for the input there. I will check the intake it has been on there for many years without any leaks so I feel like this issue is somehow related to the length of time it was not running. I am going to check it out some more today.
