What intake manifold is this?

I don't remember how much they're worth (I sold one a few years back). Just check around eBay and craigslist and see what they're going for. It's pretty much equivalent to a GT40/Cobra intake. It's a decent step up from a stock 5.0 intake.

If you have it in front of you and don't need to pay shipping....$75-100 is the going rate.

You can go to a yard and snag one for $25-50.

The lower intake is virtually the same used on the GT-40. The upper plenum is similar to the 93 Cobra. I think it has more internal voulme personally...meaning better low end torque.

It's an early Ford explorer intake...circa 1996-1997 with internal EGR

Alone. Not much. But with other mods it could be worthwhile. It's a pretty capable intake with good potential

There are done extra steps for installing on an SN95 but its basically a cast gt-40 intake

That one is already cleaned up real nice.
They are worth the $75 bux you'd pay for one... beyond that though, I'd pass.
You have quite a bit of work to get one fitted to an SN95.
I picked up the SN95 specific version of the GT40 (94/95 Cobra upper) for our 94 GT, because I wanted plug-n-play, but now I wish I hadn't.
If I had it to do over, I would use the Fox version, like that, and I would have converted the car to Fox TB, throttle cable, etc... Instead of making the intake fit the car. Make sense? Make the car take the Fox intake, not try to turn the Fox intake into an SN95 with the adapter parts.

I paid big money for the SN Cobra, and I would have been better off buying the cheaper Fox part and converting the car.
Fox setups are known for better throttle response, more room around the engine for other mods, and cleaner looking final product.
If you get an Explorer intake like this one, get the TB off the donor car too. They are 65mm, and only need the linkage swapped to fit a Fox.

Oh, and if you keep your SN95 EGR system, you should use intake gaskets with the internal EGR passages blocked off.
You can get the block offs with the gaskets, and put them between the head and intake, or you can just tap and plug the hole in the top of the lower, between the 8 intake runner holes.

Really though, the 98-up Explorer intake is the way to go for SN95 cars. They have external EGR just like the 94-95 Mustang, so there is no internal plumbing to block off. The earlier intake like the one pictured is perfect for a Fox swap that is going to keep the EGR.

OK, so now I am really confused. What you are saying is that this setup will not just "bolt on" to my engine? What would be the best set up for me to use? What about the Trick Flow? Would they require alteration as well? Any other recommendations?

Yes, it will bolt up to your engine, no doubt about it. You just need an adapter elbow, and they are cheap. The explorer intake performs the same as the GT40. Oh, and don't do the Fox throttle body conversion. One of the huge advantages of the SN is the improved throttle body. Converting it to a Fox throttle body is going backwards. It's also cheaper too buy the elbow adapter than to get all the parts to convert it to a Fox throttle body. I've seen Explorer intakes go for as high as $200 on ebay, and they weren't as clean as that one. Use your judgement on price.

The only upgrade intake that will be plug-n-play for your car is the SN Cobra intake.

The rest will require the adapter elbow and require you to deal with EGR plumbing differences.
Not a huge deal, but something you should know about.

I am not out for a big arguement, but I have talked to a bunch of folks that have done the swap "backwards", and they WILL argue with you.
The Fox setup has so much more aftermarket support and choices, as well as more throttle response.
Not to mention the complexity you remove from the engine bay and room added for other mods.

I wish I had talked to those guys before dropping 300 bux on an SN Cobra intake.
The SN set up is just so over-engineered, ugly, complex, and can't keep a consistent idle for more than 10 seconds.
My Foxes are sooooooooo much more user friendly and performance superior to our SN, and it's obvious it comes down to the induction set up.

SN95= OBDII, has nothing to do with the intake and everything to do with the ECC.
