I am nearing the completion of my project so I have been playing around with exhaust system ideas. I have already chosen the Flowtech Warlock as my muffler choice (mainly for the cutouts). I am a little tired of the standard rear exhaust look so I was trying to come up with a side exhaust system on the cheap. I was thinking about some 76 Firebird tips in front of the back tire but I don't know. Can anyone share some side exhaust pics so I can get some ideas?

this is my setup i had built. BBK longtubes into a DR. gas O/R x-pipe that was cut down and dynamax race bullets added. from there it was notched for the subframe connectors and out to 2.5" borla slant cut dual intercooled tips. the tips i had cut and turned.

We had a set of 93-02 Z28 rectangular tips on side exhaust for a while on my oldest son's car.
Believe it or not, the exhaust sounded different between tips on vs just the round pipe. FWIW.
This was not on an SN... I don't know how they'd look on an SN.
The black is spray paint over some bare spots, the car is not perfect, he was 17 at the time.
I made fun of him over this pic, it looks like exhaust soot coming up from the tip. ;)

I am a HUGE fan of the Dynomax bullets!
They flow like open pipe, sound great, and are inexpensive!
What's not to like?
I run them on cars every chance I get, and even my Powerstroke 7.3 work vans.
My son has them on his 81 Fox Fairmont 5.0.

ProKiller, I must say your car is rather beautiful piece of machinery, I really like the how the side skirts wrap around the tips. Never would have thought about the Camaro style tips. Nice low profile look.

If you ever decide to use the Z28 tips on anything, here is a tip (no pun intended):
The tips are large enough to accept a 2.5" pipe joint, however, the stock pipe is not that large. (2.25" IIRC)
You have to lightly trim the weld off the connection of the tip to the inlet pipe welded in at the factory.
After you slide out the 2.25" pipe, the inlet of the tip is now 2.5" pipe.
We then welded in a 2.5" ID adapter joint, so the tips would go over a 2.5" pipe.

Also, there is no left or right tip, they are both biased to the same side, which seems odd, but it was done to center the pipes under the rear bumper in tight confines. This is easy to work around, you just need to be aware.
