Engine Best performance per dollar parts?

If your jonesing for some SOTPs feel right away and somewhat affordably get gears and/or a midpipe. If you got a heap of cash to burn superchargers are the best mod. I did almost every bolt on I could find before getting supercharged. After the supercharger, I wish I had supercharged first. Then piddled around with the minor bolt ons.

If you do choose to do gears, there is only 1 reason to not get 4.10s. That reason would be a positive displacement blower. Wish I knew that when I started out.

Eh, or if you're doing any 1/4 mile racing and don't want to run out of gear. 4.10s are only good to about 113 mph in the 1/4 mile unless you want to turn a lot of RPM.

Or if you want to keep any traction on the street. The actual net effect of steep gears on the street are pretty much 0, or maybe even a little big negative, without decent tires to hook it up.

I did the same thing...tons of money in bolt ons that did very little. Then got a KB and wondered why the heck i wasted all that money. That being said if you can not swing the blower.....gears and tune. Catback and mid pipe....Headers do very little, cost a lot, and are a huge PITA to install. Also some suspension and brake upgrades
