4.6L Engine Swap 2002 Mustang GT 5spd

Dude,

You're all over the place. Didn't you say in your other post that the motor isn't knocking or smoking ? So it just has oil leaks right ? Get the motor checked out and then go from there. If it needs a motor just get another 4.6 I mean you have limited funds right ? You don't wanna even think about all the cash to put a 351 in there fuggetaboutit. If it were me or should I say if I were you I would go to a local graveyard and get a price for a used motor installed. Around here that could happen for around $1500 bux. I built my shortblock for around 800 bux but 300 of that was for another motor I bought which had issues but I got some stuff out of it, a good crank, good block, pistons and rods. The heads were pretty much shot though.

I still think you had closer to 3 qts, reason being, they said it took 4 qts, our motors dont only hold 5 qts ,plus this shop may have imbellished a little as a setup to some motor work down the line

I'm sure it probably leaked all the way from Vegas, who knows? All we do know is that this good looking mustang was abused and now it's a P.O.S. I can't stand people that don't take care of their cars. WTF?!?

Honestly, if you are paying someone to do the engine swap for you, $2500 might get you stock engine back in the car.

I followed your other thread and honestly not sure what I'd do if i was you at this point. Soaking more $$ into the car is not something I'd personally do.

Wow so youre gonna take a 2500 dollar loss ? ya know what im out. dont what to tell ya.

Nope. I've decided I'm going to sell it for BEST OFFER and let the buyer know about the "not actual mileage" and the top not going up etc... See what offers I get.

I should be able to get more than $2,500 as it sits. I'm posting video and pictures of the car up for sale on YouTube as well. On top of that, I'm going to see if my attorney will take on this case and use the camera from western union to track this a**hole down. It works for red light camera tickets, so it should work.

ok since you asked directly, if I were you id find a motor for 8 or 900 bux and swap it out. Taking into consideration the shape of the car cosmetically.
Cause your loss will end up being another guys windfall. but then again I dont know your financial situation or your automotive prowess. Thing is you bought a car that is 12 years old so either way you were gonna have to spend money. all this is of course is subject to whether the rest of the drivetrain is in good shape, if you were to need a tranny rebuild, well then thats a game changer, t-3650s are not cheap.

You can get a new engine for $900? Where? All I've seen was $1,500. Anyways, yea I realized it's an 11 yr old car and figured I'd have issues down the road, not right after I bought the car. The reason I got into this mess was because I only have limited funds of $5k to spend.

I still had no money yet to register it, smog it or get insurance for it. I was going to let it sit and work to get that money and then take care of all that. I work on a gig by gig basis, so yea I'm currently struggling in the finances department. I have this car listed for sale now. You can view it under the SN95 For Sale thread. Best offer takes it.

Since you'd ask. If you truely have no legal recourse, List for what you paid and go fishing. If you put money into it, you'll take a loss anyway. So at least save yourself your time and effort.

Be honest, and push the overall cleanness of the car and see what you get.

I agree. I listed it for sale on CL, YouTube and Here. Thanks for the advice!
