Dont really have time to respond to idiotic questions. Really, do more research on cars, in general, before attempting to post threads like this. I feel ashamed that you own a Mustang. You belong in a Honda.
What a great question!
You know that would quiet down your exhaust more but would increase your backpressure which would increasse your Torque! I bet it would sound very unique.
However you wouldnt want to do this as the goal is to remove the exhaust gas as fast as possible with the least amount of restriction possible.
The further back (towards the rear of the car) you move the muffler the deeper or lower the tone.

Is it a offroad xpipe?? meaning do you still have the catalytic converters on the car?? if you don't then if you want it louder then get different mufflers.
I'm not really sure what the thread is asking. I can't follow it. But I will tell you it sounds like a lot of splicing pipes and parts together to make more places for it to fall apart or leak. I just think there is a cleaner way to accomplish whatever goal you had in mind. Sorry someone frosted you for your question but it was an opinion.
Dude you already knew it was a silly idea otherwise you wouldn't have thought it was dumb to start with.
If you want louder than magnapacks get a set of the SLP loudmouth 1's. Those with an o/r pipe I promise you are loud enough to give you a headache. I had that for about a week. Was so loud I wouldn't go WOT. It was bad. Atleast you won't kill your exhaust flow like your Y idea.
Already been mentioned but if your x-pipe has cats you could get a catless one, this would make it louder (and also illegal to be driven on the street....)
Exhaust is very subjective aspecially on the forums. The loudest exhausts I ever really hear on a Ford Mustang is the Magnaflow Magnapack or SLP Loudmouth 1 catback exhausts.
