Does your 5.0 overheat run hotter with underdrive pulleys??

Also, I saw a nice four eye up at the U Pull in WB with good fenders, extensions, and a decent nose. I think it was am 83? white.. On Southern Blvd by the turnpike.[/quote]

Ha Ha Ha!!!
Thanks for that heads-up Mike! I already plucked that chicken to the bones!!! A friend and I went up there last week and wham! there it was. Believe it or not, I looked high and low for that nose and couldn't find one anywhere - but there it was in a little bone-yard out west. South florida can be small for some of us.....

Thanks for the other info. I do plan to check Tim out. I have a 306 that I bought that needs balancing and other stuff.

I will let you know about gears....

haha. that's funny we saw the same car. That U Pull gets some decent cars in but they are picked clean in a week and often by a bunch of buthcers. I was there a month ago when a nice 88 vert came in with a cervini cobra wing on the trunk. This A hole couldnt get the trunk open so he chiseled the damn wing off, ruining the trunk lid. I offered him $50 to stop and I'd buy it right then so he wouldnt ruin the trunk and wing, but he kept hacking away. Then the next week he says it didn't fit his hatchback. Have you noticed that many parts are hacked off and the parts left over are broken? Makes me sick when I see all of the broken trim, plastic and interior pieces.

If you need engine work, Ronnie at M specialties does fantastic work. He worked my TFS heads and other machine work about 10 years ago that put me in the low 10's. IMO he's one of the top engine builders in S fla. I was just there today because they needed to weld on some new flow tubes on my muffler so my h pipe could fit.

didnt take the time to read everyones post....

take it from a guy here in AZ do not run UD pulleys. get yourself a nice 2/3 row radiator something with large cores 3/4 of an inch or better if its a 3 row or 1"+ if its a 2 row. also some nice electric fans will help as well.

now these are a little over sized but is what I feel are great radiators for the money:

you will also need a 3g swap with e-fans. i could easily help you if needed. also if you were still set on running UDs just get a high volume WP to help compensate

Thanks David for your offer. The car's got the stock radiator but I've got a e-fan pushing from the front to help out while stopped in traffic. I haven't driven this car here in the summer, so I'm staying away from the UD's for now.

Fortunately and unfortunately, the alternator has a lifetime warranty from the previous owner (along with about $1k in other parts!) so the one that went in is 75 amp Duralast. Maybe I'll turn off my running lights during the day to reduce the draw, but I'm not sure I can cruise my stang without its cat eyes:) The water pump is also new and warranteed so I'll see how it cools and upgrade accordingly. Those Griffin radiators are nice, and at only $185 you gotta love american cars!

I'm still debating the 3.55 vs 3.73, maybe we should start a new thread for that... I don't think I've ever seen a thread on that before:dead:

Since you're from the area are there any good cruise nights in town that you might recommend??

there are plenty of other threads about choosing gears man I would search first but the short side of it is do you drive on the freeway much? if yes then 3.55 if seldom 3.73 if not at all 4.10s.

also the 75 amp alternator is hardly enough to run the vehicle let alone an efan.
