I do not like those, the style is kind of outdated and better suited for cars with chrome bumpers or those that are rough around the edges. My last stang (89' notch like yours...) had them because a lightpole moved my front end and everything was misaligned. The only way to keep it shut was with hood pins. Then one day I forgot to put them in my hood flew up at 30 mph. Another reason to ditch them, every time I popped the hood for someone they wanted to pull out the pins as if it was a freakin' grenade and scratched my paint in the process!

If you trust your hood latch, ditch them; otherwise get the flush mount kind, they look much cleaner and are only 15 bucks - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-42613/overview/

A sidenote- where'd you get those smoked lights? They look different from the ones on americanmuscle.com

those are from late model , i love them I am going for paint again from a small fender bender that is why the right corner doesn't match , as car as the pins I am kinda stuck with them how the hell am I gonna fill the hood back in...

I'm a fan of the pins as they do serve a direct purpose...the whole "form follows function" thing. If I were you I'd ditch that pin style and get the flat torsion pin. I think it might look smoother and go better with your car.

These good pin threads are always fun. Seems people either love em or hate em. They just work.

I really hate the flat torsion style ones , they are growing on me , I might order the upr black kit to cut out the chrome becAuse there is no chrome on the car except my tail pipes

I like old school hood pins. If you are worried about the hood coming up, just leave them. No matter who says what about them, they dont look as bad as your roof and cowl panel will look when the hood pops up on you.
