Anyone ever install these to keep the inside of the wheel from rubbing the control arm? They install on the rack shaft under the bellows to limit the turning radius. Bought them from 50 Resto.
Thanks! There were no instructions w/ them. Since they are designed w/ a notch cut into them, they go on the outside of the rack between the inner tie rod where the shaft comes out of the housing. Is that correct? This is not an internal install is it?jrichker said:Every rack is supposed to have them installed. I know for a fact that they do what they are supposed to do. The Ford part number is N804842-S washer. They come in a package of 4.
+1!! Perfect! Thanks!!!:SNSign:rd said:Great info here, I have two cars that need these.

ALMOST STOCK said:All I can say is my car is an 89 and when I opened the bellows to install the limiters after doing the 5 lug swap is was easy to see where they went because there were some already installed from the factory in the rack . I know that they were installed from the factory because I'm the original owner of the car and the steering rack has never been replaced or opened until I opened up the bellows.
The diagram below the pic I posted earlier is from the 89 Ford shop manual and it clearly shows the Travel Restrictors Part# 21.
Pony wheels didn't come out until what 90 when Ford went to the 16" wheels?
