Howdy! New to this site, thought it looked cool and I'd try it. I have an 86 convertible that was originally a v6. It now sports a 351w with Dart iron heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Hooker 1-3/4 headers, and a c4 with a 3000 stall converter. This combo was good enough for mid 12s at 109 mph. Now I have a 3yr old son, work alot of overtime and don't have time to make it to the track. I had a WC T5 in my stash and thought it would make the car more fun on the street as well as gain an overdrive. Now my problem- I can't seem to figure out where the speedo cable is supposed to route through the firewall. It originally went through the hole for the clutch cable. With the aftermarket cable and firewall adjuster, this has to change. I can't see any other holes that would work for this. Did early v6s have a different firewall? There's not much room for me to make another hole. None of the pics I've found online show the speedo cable. Any help would be appreciated, pics even better! Thanks

There are 2 holes in your firewall. One of them has the speedo cable going through it now. The other has a round rubber grommet covering the hole about 3-4" from the speedo hole. You need to remove that grommet, and unplug your speedo and rerun the cable through the new hole. Then run your clutch cable with adjuster through the old speedo hole that is not in use anymore. Hope this helps...sorry, no pics
