Project Check2Check My 72 Restomod

Real Update..

Got to work on the Mustang today:nice:

I got the new Dynacorn NASA hood installed, picked it up during CJponyparts sheetmetal sale, the chrome trim attached and lined up, looks perdy:D

I also got the new seats installed, they took some work, Corbeau built the seat racks wrong and had the rails on backwards to the base so I had to disassemble them and rebuild them correctly, once I got that done, I went to install them and found that the Drivers seat's ratchet for the reline function doesn't work and when you move the seat back if just springs forward back to it's folded position. So I get to have a conversation with them tomorrow.

But a pretty productive none the less

The other cars aren't mine.

The seats are comfortable and sit well in the car. They do make me sit a fuzz higher then the old seats but I blame that on the old seats being worn out and the foams being broke down.

Talked with Corbeau this morning, the Customer care guy was really nice and very helpful, he talked with me for a bit as I described what was happening and What I thought it was, I sent him some pictures and a little while later I got a call saying that they were sending me a new unit. I had the option to send the seat in and have them fix it, but I opted for the repair part so that I don't have to wait for the seat to go and come back.:nice: I'm sold I'll buy again:D

going to look great !

Thanks

I got the new ratchet installed. I followed the supplied instructions and everything came apart and back together with little fuss. I did have to use new hog rings as 2 of the bolts are under the fabric, but that wasn't an issue:nice:

After I took the original one off I found that one of the teeth were broken and it looks like that what ever caused it to break (defect or something I did, still not sure) slowly caused it to round off the following teeth. But all is well now and seat is in and functioning

new update, started on rust repair. spent the better part of the day cutting spot weld and got the tail light panel out. next is the trunk drop outs and floor.

Holy crap I have missed my car..... A lot of life has hapened in the last 9 months, and finally after a divorce, job change, financial battle with the ex, everything is back to good, and I'm ordering the last of the sheet metal to get my car back together and ready for paint!!!!!

I got some work done today, got the truck cleaned out and removed the trunk floor patch that the PO had "installed". I swapped the trunk latch to the new tail light panel, and will be going at it tomorrow and hopefully have the new truck floor installed or at least ready to weld in tomorrow

coming along nice, and looking good! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I got some more done, got the majority of the original floor out and the tank supported, Now I have to drill out the rest of the spot welds up the frame rails and get to the drop outs next...

The PO made a patch with the floor of another car, Installed a nice new Gas tank, and proceeded to drill a half dozen holes in the front of the tank where the rivets were!

Holy crap some time has gone by..... So the car is getting some serious work done, and is only a few days from going in the booth for its first round of primer. Since the last update; the truck floor and drop offs have been done, the pass side shackle perch has been replaced, the driver's seat pan and floor have been repaired and replaced, the pass side wheel well and lower quarter have been replaced, the a pillars have has rust repair, the front fenders have had previous patch work replaced, tail light panel is in, and much of the bolt on parts have been perimeter. I also picked up a 65 6cyl car for the misses, and I picked up the red mach 1 in a previous picture
